One reason is because I like to make people happier, and a way to do that is by making people laugh. So much is going on in the world and some people just need a laugh and smile. I'm all about helping others.

This question has been asked several times on the forum and I would like to explain my answer in a little bit of detail:

Youtube has changed me. Before I began my channel early this year, I was an extremely camera shy person with a big inferiority complex. I was convinced to do this by another Youtuber who makes really good vlogs and is extremely comfortable in front of the camera. Being a Youtube personality really appealed to me and I wanted to give it a try not so much to be rich or famous, but to conquer my insecurities.

It was a big step for me because I didn’t quite know how to begin. I had a camera and a hobby but my biggest problem was, and sometimes still is, how to avoid getting tongue tied when the red light is blinking. My first few videos were awful. So awful that they never made it onto my Youtube channel. The first few videos that I did upload are better but still not great.

As I filmed more and more, the videos got better but I concede they still could use improvement. My very first uploaded video, which is my Homemade Doughnuts was the scariest because I filmed the first part of it in a public place (the gym) with a bunch of people, some I knew, others I didn’t standing around watching me. I planned it out a week in advance and even remembered a brief script in my head. I would recite the script out loud in my car while driving everyday until I got it right. It was a success. It was a huge step in overcoming the awkwardness we all feel about filming in public. I still go back and watch that video because I believe it was a turning point for me.

The biggest change is that the camera shyness is completely gone. In fact, I now love being in front of the camera and willing to do things I would never consider doing in the past such as dancing, wearing NO makeup, and acting like a clown. I can’t see myself not doing this because I’m really having so much fun now.

That is why I Youtube

I do Youtube because I have a desk job 9-5 I crave being creative ! Once I found youtube I discovered what a great feeling it was to have a finished product ! I love the whole process of filming and planning and editing videos ! I also love how diverse everyones content is ! there is a place for everyone I cant wait to keep improving on my channel <3

Thats why I love Youtubing

I started my Youtube channel for a couple reasons. The first one being that I'm a very shy and introverted person in real life, so unless I'm forced into one on ones with people (which I enjoy) it's hard for me to open up and actually get to know someone or have them get to know me. I'm hoping to use my Youtube channel as a way to force myself to open up more and actually be able to display my real personality in public without feeling weird or ashamed.

The second reason for starting my channel is me being kind of fed up with some of the gamer community. I wanted to create a channel that would celebrate games and bring people together over games, and I don't mean just gamers. I want to try and create a fun and safe place for anyone who feels as though the gamer community might be or has been too toxic for entry. As the channel grows I want to promote helpful dialogue and friendly communication when it comes to all things game related.

For years I've been trying to figure out what I WANT to do.. safe to say this is it, loving the interaction, the appreciation the admiration, some unfelt feelings happening.. I feel inspired to be creative and satisfied knowing my content has made someone's day..

Simple question, how did you start YouTube? I personally just love to entertain people and this seemed like a good way to do so. My main inspiration was VannossGaming. I just love his videos and he makes me laugh all the time.

I started on my original channel WAY back in 2007, specifically February 3, 2007. Back then I would upload videos about game hacks and cheat codes.
Through the years I've pretty much dedicated myself to the platform, and as I have grown, so has the platform itself. It's crazy to think of what things used to be, overall it has been literally half of my life and I don't regret it at all!

I had a swedish traveling blog, which I started over 3 years ago, then I thought that I should step up my game, and I started youtube!

I started in 2009.

Canon gave me a replacement camera with VGA movie capability, and I put up a few very short movies to complement my web pages.

I never intended it to be any more than that, or have a regular video channel.

I woke up one day to find people had actually subscribed to my channel - I was totally gobsmacked.

So I did a few more upgraded videos, and now the channel is humming along nicely - no effort at all. Things just happen.

So blame it on Canon.

Started this year.. we wanted to capture our trip to Orlando & Disney and now we do it to capture all our memories for our little one
