I'll check you out! Even though I'm a guy lol, makeup is still art!

I just started yesterday. I'm in it as a distraction and a personal outlet. Hopefully some time soon I'll be home and able to play music, show things off, etc/

Hi! I've been watching videos on YT for a couple of years now and I realised that there are awesome communities there with like minded individuals who are just having a great time as well as sharing their lives, their knowledge or just their passion. And so I decided that I had to be part of something so great! haha

I've only been doing this seriously for around 3 months but I've already met awesome people and got so much inspiration from them. I'm only getting more and more addicted to this :)

This question has been asked several times on the forum and I would like to explain my answer in a little bit of detail:

Youtube has changed me. Before I began my channel early this year, I was an extremely camera shy person with a big inferiority complex. I was convinced to do this by another Youtuber who makes really good vlogs and is extremely comfortable in front of the camera. Being a Youtube personality really appealed to me and I wanted to give it a try not so much to be rich or famous, but to conquer my insecurities.

It was a big step for me because I didn’t quite know how to begin. I had a camera and a hobby but my biggest problem was, and sometimes still is, how to avoid getting tongue tied when the red light is blinking. My first few videos were awful. So awful that they never made it onto my Youtube channel. The first few videos that I did upload are better but still not great.

As I filmed more and more, the videos got better but I concede they still could use improvement. My very first uploaded video, which is my Homemade Doughnuts was the scariest because I filmed the first part of it in a public place (the gym) with a bunch of people, some I knew, others I didn’t standing around watching me. I planned it out a week in advance and even remembered a brief script in my head. I would recite the script out loud in my car while driving everyday until I got it right. It was a success. It was a huge step in overcoming the awkwardness we all feel about filming in public. I still go back and watch that video because I believe it was a turning point for me.

The biggest change is that the camera shyness is completely gone. In fact, I now love being in front of the camera and willing to do things I would never consider doing in the past such as dancing, wearing NO makeup, and acting like a clown. I can’t see myself not doing this because I’m really having so much fun now.

That is why I Youtube

I Youtube because:

-I've been watching Youtube since I can remember, I feel comfortable with Youtube. I'm kind of disappointed in myself that I've only just started making Youtube videos.
-It gives me a platform to create whatever I like.
-I'm not censored, I can act weird and colorful
-It's user driven, the community respond and judge the content and essentially are the ones who lift up those who they like and deem worthy, hey it's kind of socialist!
-I've got a background in performance arts but like most people, I also have insecurities. Recording and editing videos of myself has definitely helped me become more comfortable in my own skin.

I youtube and I'm starting vlogs to show that we puppets also have a life. We wanted to be treated equally! If everyone else can make vlogs based on their lives why can't I? :thumbsup2:

Because I once sat down and got me Sony Vegas to play around with, Then I found this thing called YTP (Youtube POops) So I started making them but not uploading, Until I started sharing theses 'YTPs' with my friends, And they told me to upload!

I'm just curious to know what are everyone's reasons behind having a YouTube or what caused them to want to make their own unique videos. Me personally I have always had a passion to be behind the camera, but never perused my dream until just recently. My stuff might not be great or make sense but I know I will get better the more I try. I chose YouTube to get an audience to help lead me in the right direction to help show what I'm doing right or wrong. I want to get better with the camera and keep people interested in my content and videos.

Hope to hear all of your great stories!!!
