Don't know if anyone has already said this one (I read as many comments as I could )

When sending a channel link to someone to check out, send them the 'subscribe' link rather than just the channel link.
That way you get more subs. Sometimes poeple dont realise they should subscribe to your channel if they like. This just puts it in front of them.

Peace.

I'm not sure if anyone else has ever had this problem, but it was one that I had with two of my videos before I figured out how to fix it within my editing software I use. But when you upload a video in a certain format/aspect ratio (16:9 or 4:3) it will upload to youtube with either a big black border around it, or stretched either vertically or horizontally (it lowers the quality and looks really awkward) even though when you play it back on your computer it displays properly. It only distorts once it's uploaded. You can fix it by adding certain tags to the video (for some reason it won't let me add a link in here, but if you search "aspect ratio" and click on the one by dctcool he explains it really well). It only fixes it when you watch it on a PC, but it's still good to use if you've already uploaded a video and can't take it down and reupload it after fixing the settings in your editing software.
I use Windows Movie Maker to edit and I found out it can be fixed by going to Tools > Options > Advanced > and setting it to PAL instead of NTSC.
I'm not sure if too many other people have had this problem, but if so, this is a quick fix c:

Make channel intros as short as possible, you want viewers to see you and hear you as soon as possible, not leave before you start.

Do your research on the type of content you are doing, spent quite the number of hours looking at the best equipment and software. Doing the research on the type of content is a tip that is often forgotten but it is a key tip not just for people starting a YT channel.

with vlogging - I would recommend that you buy some sort of notepad and take it with you wherever you go to write ideas for your vlogs and than make a script out of it (that's what I do)

you wouldn't want to have a brilliant idea in your head during lunch at college and than forget about it when you go home
this is great advice! recently bought myself a notepad and whenever I have an idea of what to say, what to record, where to go, etc etc I write it down. Remember so much more this way
