Don't force it. If you don't feel like making a video, save it for another day when you're up for it. If you don't want to be there, then your audience will probably feel the same way.

Just be yourself. Don't try to copy styles or anything.
Be sure to be active in forums or other places that could get you noticed by people who might like your stuff.
Create a twitter, twitch, Reddit, etc before you do YouTube so someone doesn't take them when you get more popular.
Use social media like twitter, Facebook, or other sites to help get videos out.
Have an idea of what your channel could be like later on.
Be sure to make custom thumbs, channel art, and profile pic before you make your YouTube.
Do research on networks, annotations, SEO, and other things to help you out in the future.
Be ACTIVE with your subscribers/ channel. Building honest fans is what helps out best in later times.
Learn to link your sites (twitter, Facebook) to your channel. (a mistake I still have not corrected).
Just have fun with it. Do it for what makes you happy.

Make videos out of love and passion for doing your chosen field of youtube (gamer, vlogger etc) not out of wanting fame and a million subscribers

Go to YouTube conventions and gatherings, it's the best place to make new connections and friends. Once you find a solid group of people that enjoy the same things you do, it will be easier and more fun to make videos.

TIP: Upload Videos atleast twice a week, my Uploading Days are Friday and Sunday, sometimes possibly I upload on Wednesday!!
Write huge story of description, throw in all the links, the links can be ur previous videos, ur facebook page, ur Vines, instagram, twitter etc.
Put SUBSCRIBE button at the end of the Videos, it looks professional. NOTE: If u say in ur Video "PLZ PLZ PLZ SUBSCRIBE" it may become a bad impression, it seems like u r looking for SUBSCRIPTION, just say "Waazzup people, wanna catch my more updates aan??? EASY Subscribe Button is here"
Annotations is important as well, it works like a linker or tagger, so better use it for more advantage.
