I have several reasons.

Initially I started as a way of advertising my music...but at the same time that I started a lot of really bad things happened to me that brought me back to the chaos that I grew up feeling inside...so part of me became desparate for recognition in order to stabilize my sense of self-esteem.

Now that I've started having panic attacks and other problems it's become of way of cathartically expelling negative thoughts in a productive way while simultaneously seeking recognition and pursuing my goal of helping other people that feel like me.

This question has been asked several times on the forum and I would like to explain my answer in a little bit of detail:

Youtube has changed me. Before I began my channel early this year, I was an extremely camera shy person with a big inferiority complex. I was convinced to do this by another Youtuber who makes really good vlogs and is extremely comfortable in front of the camera. Being a Youtube personality really appealed to me and I wanted to give it a try not so much to be rich or famous, but to conquer my insecurities.

It was a big step for me because I didn’t quite know how to begin. I had a camera and a hobby but my biggest problem was, and sometimes still is, how to avoid getting tongue tied when the red light is blinking. My first few videos were awful. So awful that they never made it onto my Youtube channel. The first few videos that I did upload are better but still not great.

As I filmed more and more, the videos got better but I concede they still could use improvement. My very first uploaded video, which is my Homemade Doughnuts was the scariest because I filmed the first part of it in a public place (the gym) with a bunch of people, some I knew, others I didn’t standing around watching me. I planned it out a week in advance and even remembered a brief script in my head. I would recite the script out loud in my car while driving everyday until I got it right. It was a success. It was a huge step in overcoming the awkwardness we all feel about filming in public. I still go back and watch that video because I believe it was a turning point for me.

The biggest change is that the camera shyness is completely gone. In fact, I now love being in front of the camera and willing to do things I would never consider doing in the past such as dancing, wearing NO makeup, and acting like a clown. I can’t see myself not doing this because I’m really having so much fun now.

That is why I Youtube
I am 13 and I started YouTube for my love of editing. I also want people to know who I was. Give me a purpose sort of.

I don't think I have one specific reason.

I have watched and participated in one way or another since I was a kid. It piques my interest in more ways than one. It has become addicting to make videos and edit. Though granted I haven't uploaded on either my vlog channel or my gaming in quite a bit.

I have never had a specific thing I was interested in, so naturally YouTube became something I invested my being in. I feel like it has boosted my confidence on camera and off. I have become more comfortable of making a fool out of myself while embarrassing the surrounding friends. Which is always quite fun. YouTube is such a cluster of personalities. In the end I really love making people smile and brightening days.

*Also, it is really fun on my end to create.

I do YouTube because I do play piano to show my talent but I am not the best piano player i can make some mistakes but I am trying my best to make the best contain. So don't dislike my piano videos but be nice. I hope you come back every week and do vlog and goodbye

For me it was a natural process. I always loved playing video games. Also I was always constantly checking new ones becuase I really enjoy the feeling of starting a new game. YouTube for me was just another opportunity to do what I love. I have to say that I was influenced by some big youtubers. They inspired me to start my own channel. At first commentating was strange, becuase usually I don't speak while playing (why would I). I really enjoy the process of making videos and possibility to learn new things (like learning Photoshop etc.). Also as not a native speaker it's a great way to get more confortable with english. So that's is my story ;)

I do youtube for one simple reason, i enjoy gaming, and figured why not join probably one of the largest gaming communities in the world... Youtube! good luck to all you new and old youtubers! may all your hopes become a reality!

I started YouTube as a fun family hobby.

I've always loved presenting and public speaking. I used to host various events and narrate ceremonies when I was in the military. But after I got out I couldn't really find a way to continue on with that type of stuff. So I started working in human resources and life got very boring lol. My wife also happens to be a wonderful home cook. I started posting some of our home recipes and dishes on various forms of social media and got a pretty good response from people.

So about a month ago it hit me to try and combine my love of presentation and performance with my wife's cooking talent. And boom, our family cooking show was born! It's really cool because we get the whole family including the kids involved and we're having a ton of fun.

It started as a fun hobby but has quickly become my passion in life. Seriously it's all I ever want to do. Learn, improve, grow!
