Hmm ... I Do YouTube Because I Play The Game So Much I Want To Show Other Ppl How Good I Am lol. Everyone That Knows I Play A Lot Always Say " You Should Get In a Tournament. " blah Blah Etc. also I Love Making Montages and Maybe I Would Gain Some Subs To Watch My Gaming Vids/Montages.

The reason I do YouTube is to have the bragging rights to saying these things in real life:
To my friends - "Yeah bro, I got 100K subs, don't mess wit me fam."
To my family - "Mhm, I am famous now mom. I have thousands of people looking up to meh. Huehue!"
Job resume - "Yeah dude, I'm the dude who got viral for running around the street naked. Mhm. That was me. I made $1000 off of that. Now can I have the job?'
LOOL
But in all seriousness, I just want to do YouTube so I can have the satisfaction of having people look up to me, and getting dem views, so the world can know I have talent in me.

This question has been asked several times on the forum and I would like to explain my answer in a little bit of detail:

Youtube has changed me. Before I began my channel early this year, I was an extremely camera shy person with a big inferiority complex. I was convinced to do this by another Youtuber who makes really good vlogs and is extremely comfortable in front of the camera. Being a Youtube personality really appealed to me and I wanted to give it a try not so much to be rich or famous, but to conquer my insecurities.

It was a big step for me because I didn’t quite know how to begin. I had a camera and a hobby but my biggest problem was, and sometimes still is, how to avoid getting tongue tied when the red light is blinking. My first few videos were awful. So awful that they never made it onto my Youtube channel. The first few videos that I did upload are better but still not great.

As I filmed more and more, the videos got better but I concede they still could use improvement. My very first uploaded video, which is my Homemade Doughnuts was the scariest because I filmed the first part of it in a public place (the gym) with a bunch of people, some I knew, others I didn’t standing around watching me. I planned it out a week in advance and even remembered a brief script in my head. I would recite the script out loud in my car while driving everyday until I got it right. It was a success. It was a huge step in overcoming the awkwardness we all feel about filming in public. I still go back and watch that video because I believe it was a turning point for me.

The biggest change is that the camera shyness is completely gone. In fact, I now love being in front of the camera and willing to do things I would never consider doing in the past such as dancing, wearing NO makeup, and acting like a clown. I can’t see myself not doing this because I’m really having so much fun now.

That is why I Youtube

This is an Awesome story! My story is pretty much the same as yours. I started my channel 2 weeks ago and filmed my first video in public (trampoline park) this week.

Great story! Hopefully I'll also get where you are today.

I started my channel for a reason similar to yours. I was dealing with seasonal depression and decided to make videos as a way to combat it. It gave me something that I could get done in a short amount of time, and so it hit that reward response in the back of my brain that helped keep the lack of motivation to do anything at bay.

I started my youtube channel because i have a passion for playing video games and i also like to meet a lot of people. seeing youtubers like syndicate and ksi, made me realize that youtube is one of the best platforms to just be yourself. Hopefully, through my channel, i will be able to inspire people on a day to day basis and make people smile, by telling my life stories :)

I'm really sorry to hear about your depression but it's a good thing that youtube keeps you motivated I will be checking your channel out thanks for the reply!

as long as you have a passion I believe that's the easiest way to inspire people I love video games I will have to check out your channel!

Thanks!

I've been fortunate that it only manifests itself as lack of motivation and not anything more serious, and it only really rears its ugly head during the winter time. I honestly had no idea I would ever have an issue with it until I moved from the Southern US to the Midwest. The lack of sun kicked it off.

I will say that I've let my upload schedule slip a little bit since I haven't been making let's plays, but there are a couple of games coming soon that I'll be posting videos for so I should be able to get back to several uploads a week.
