How did you start?

I started making videos because I wanted to express myself in some sort of creative way! I started making music things on my channel because of doddleoddle though!

Now I know everyone here who has started a channel has had that point where they were suddenly inspired or motivated by someone or something, to do youtube. For me it was my little brother.
One day I was sitting in my room playing one of my favorite video games. (Banjo Tooie carried a lot of childhood memories for me) But anyways my brother was sitting there watching youtube (I didn't watch much youtube then), and he told me that I should start making videos, since I'm usually sitting there, playing video games, and talking to myself anyway (lol). At first I was wondering why I would ever want to that, till he showed me this guy who played video games on his channel, and millions were watching him. And that was It, ever since then, I wanted an audience. So since I started my channel, I've been uploading daily, and I'm starting to realize, that this is probably the most fun I've ever had playing video games.

But I would like to know... What inspired YOU?

Well, I had a channel before this one, and I uploaded covers and there are two videos of my mother on there too. I just wanted to share funny moments and sing for people at first, but I stopped and I don't remember why. Then, after I graduated college, I wasn't doing much- and something I was told a lot in school is "if you aren't working, make work" so YouTube is (supposed to be) an outlet for me to create and *TRY* to make people laugh while I'm not "in the game". Also, a plus would be getting noticed because this is one way to do it, but that won't come for a long time down the line.

Growing up I didn't have the best home environment and turned to video games and recording/editing videos as a form of escapism. I played video games around 5 or 6 years old and started making videos at 11 years old, but stopped playing video games when I started college. Now I have intentions finish my bachelor's very soon and all the changes that came with being a young adult keep my depression active. So I went back to video games after 3 years of not playing much as a way to cope with depression. In video games my life and destiny is always under my control and it can be such a pick me up when you feel powerless in real life. I hope to entertain/make people laugh like so many people online have when my life just didn't provide the support I needed. Plus have fun!

Nice comment,
but yeah, if i'm gonna be sitting around not doing anything, why not put that time to somewhat "good use" and make videos. At some point I'm sure we will all have that point where our channels get a boost. We just have to keep at it.

I started my channel a year after I started writing a travel blog (first it was a swedish one, then I switched to english), because I also wanted to show what I saw instead if just describing what I saw, so I made a youtube channel! Looking back, I would do it again!

I like making people laugh and i wanted something to do.

Skip forward 1 failed channel later i now take it a tad more seriously an make an effort to make sure every video is better than the last.

What? Passion for filming foto and video. When first time I got digital camera I shot everything I saw. But started to publish my works on YT only 3 months ago. Now I regret that I didn't begin 10 years ago.

I'm in denial that i have a chance to get money on youtube and get clout when in reality i get about 3.5 views a day lol
