This post will be most useful/helpful for channels between 0 - 1000 subscribers, however, it will still help bigger channels. In my opinion, the best way to bring people to your channel, when it is small, is to be very active on other peoples videos (both big and small channels). HOWEVER, IT IS VERY IMPORTANT HOW YOU GO ABOUT THIS. No matter what the comment is, reply to it with something that is helpful to that person without saying anything about your channel. For example, if someone leaves a comment that says "Man I'd really like my channel to grow more," you could reply "Don't get discouraged, because growth at this level is very difficult, just keep at it and you'll start to see success." Nowhere in that reply did I say "check out my channel," "sub 4 sub," "subscribe to my channel and I'll sub back." When you reply with one of the just mentioned comments, it comes across as very superficial and will not bring over a long time viewer; instead someone comes to your channel not for your content, but only to increase their sub count by 1. This may work short term, but will lead to nothing valuable in the long run. If you try to be nice/helpful/friendly to others just for the sake of doing it without asking for anything in return, you tend to get the same thing back. This is in my opinion, is a great way to build real relationships with people and to improve the quality of the comments section on Youtube. I actually made a parody video recently about what the comment section is like nowadays... it's seems to be more and more about self promotion and hate comments sadly. Anyway, I hope this was helpful, and believe me it will help bring the kind of people you want to your channel. Have an awesome day everyone! :)

Enjoy what you do. Sure subscribers are nice, and I'm always trying to get more views, but if you don't enjoy doing it and you are just making videos to make videos, you should just stop. Make the videos because it's fun and you have a passion for it.

One thing learned in my 4 year YouTube journey is to not get caught up in your statistics. I understand that we all want some reassurance for our hard work. But when just starting out, it can be depressing to see the statistics. I recently lost a large amount of subscribers, and cried for days. I found that by working hard, being consistent, and not looking at your statistics for a while, will take you far! Keep it up.

My single biggest tip would be work on your audio.. try to get the best sound possible.. mic fairly close to the mouth and learn how to use audacity or any audio editing software, to reduce noise, compress.. and ad equalisation effects to give yourself a sexy a** voice.

Never EVER forget the golden rule that can pretty much be applied to everything in life, especially within the media/entertainment business (which naturally includes YouTube videos as well): "CONTENT IS KING"! Period!

Sure, writting a catchy title, use as much keywords as possible in your description, fill your video with meta tags until VidIQ or TubeBuddy implores you to stop, adding notes, closed captions and cards, in summary, SEO the "you know what" out of your video is certainly important, but if your content is a mere peasant other than a king, everything will be in vain.

Think for a moment: why do you enjoy your favorite TV show? Special effects? Tons of hotness everywhere? Good background music? Sexy intro and final credits? Surely that's not the correct answer! You enjoy your favorite TV show because you get emotionally connected with the characters and the storyline. If it contains a good storyline and compelling characters and also all the other "gaga", that's a plus, but a show full of gimmicks and a poor plot wouldn't certainly get your attention.

So, "content is king", produce videos with great content and you'll, sooner or later, make it to the "YouTubig leagues"! And you better obey to this rule, as you certainly don't want to p**s M1ss T3riosa off and have her curse you for all eternity. So, close this window now and go shoot a video with some quality content. M1ss T3riosa wishes to see the final result... or else...

All I can say is Make sure your thumbnails are visually pleasing. people are MUCH more apt to click on a great looking photo than something that does not stand out :)
