Also, even if your computer doesn't have that software built in; there are tons of free software online. Can't do a lot with it, but you can start to make videos with it.
Wrong.
Look up Lightworks :D
It has a pro version but that only adds functions for movie makers to work more efficient. Free is a fully fleshed editor:D

Reply to this with a SINGLE YouTube tip. Anything that a YouTuber might find helpful. It can be an obvious tip or something a little more complicated. You don't have to agree with all tips posted. I thought it would be cool to have a whole thread of YouTube tips that are short and easy to read.

Here's my tip:
Change your profile picture to either a close up of you face or a your logo for your channel.
Be Posative :) it makes people happy and if you vlog SMILE :)[DOUBLEPOST=1429801724,1429801609][/DOUBLEPOST]
Don't forget to press record before you start talking. ( :( )
hahahaha

Not sure if this has been said yet (25 pages, dayum) but someone made a comment that made me think of this.

To anyone that is thinking of making YouTube videos or is just starting out; contrary to popular belief, you do not need a $10,000 setup to be a good YouTuber. You don't need a $5000 HD video camera, or a $3000 workstation computer or any of that stuff. You just need to make videos. If you are wanting to make beauty tips or vlogs or home movies most current cell phones have a really good camera that you can use to record, most Windows computer have Windows Movie Maker, and Apple computers have iMovie that you can use to edit with.

Absolutely correct. All of my videos are filmed with my Gopro because I didn't want to buy another camera.[DOUBLEPOST=1429838426,1429831576][/DOUBLEPOST]My tip would be to look at non-internet ways to get your name out there. I had inexpensive business cards made up with my name, a brief description and my website and Youtube link on them. I have a baking channel and every time I meet someone who has an interest in baking, I hand them my card and let them know they can watch FREE baking tutorials there. I also posted the cards on bulletin boards in libraries and community centers.

Please don't become one of those YouTubers who comment on every single video of a certain famous channel and always happen to become at the top, give others a chance and don't steal a spotlight

Dont use intros, especially long intros like 15-45 seconds. Go straight to the point. People are lazy to watch long vids, so one more tip, dont make very long vids unless audience wants it.

Just enjoy making videos and bring your personality (this kinda coming from me but others tips within Youtube eg one is ItsUncleSlam) also show support with likes, subscribe, comments yeah....k see you soon :)

If you've got a series going and you've set up a playlist for that series (as you should), set your playlist to auto-add videos with the series name in their title. Such a timesaver.

Don't sell your soul to Satan without reading the contract. And by soul and I mean channel. And by Satan, I mean networks. In other words, read the contract before signing it.
if you do sell your soul to satan, make sure you are a minor so that it's not legally binding[DOUBLEPOST=1431305535,1431305220][/DOUBLEPOST]if you have a tripod, make sure it wont fall and hit you in the face because mine just fell when i was recording... and it hit me right below my eye
