Equipment tip:
Spend the big bucks on your camera body, lens and microphone. The stuff that MUST be high quality. Then offset that extra $$$ spent by buying all your other gear and add-ons that don`t require top quality for cheap on ebay, such as various tripods, remotes, batteries, sd cards, clip on lenses, lights (yes lights), green screens etc etc.
This way you`ll end up with much higher quality final product for the same $$$, than if you buy with an average camera placed on a rockin` hot over priced tripod
Good tip.
I would suggest if you have even less Money ( assuming you already have a Pc which is good enough for your porpoises ) to leave out Green screens and stuff and trying to be creative and find good enough stuff.
For example . If you don't have headphones already use the ear buds which came with your Phone or use a window right in front of ya ( or over you ) instead of lights or just use old lights which were meant to stand next to your bed ( put them back where they were after ).
Another tip would be to not buy Remotes for the camera ( even though they are helpful ) because you can just press record sit down , do the syncing ( claps keyboard presses .... Just stuff you do to sync your videos ) and then cut it so your video starts at the intro.
Again buying the actual equipment is better and more convenient but if you have a low budget find stuff which can replace certain equipment and then spend all of it on a microphone camera ( with lenses if needed ) and if you don't already have one , a decent Pc as the person above my post has already said
This whole Post was just a little tip relating to the Post above mine to get a good setup with less money.
Btw. A 30 BUCKS WEBCAM AND A 20 BUCKS MICRO PHONE AREN'T GOOD. SPEND ATLEAST 70 - 150 FOR A REAL CAMERA AND 100 FOR A DECENT MICRO PHONE ( MORE IS RECOMMENDET )
AND NEVER. NEVER USE A MICROPHONE OF A HEADSET ! ( except it was like 500 bucks then it's decent but trust me. For 250 you can get a studio micro with audio interface pop shield shock stand which is a perfect microphone for everything below blockbuster movies in the cinema )
( I want angry but I needed a way for the Text above to be ovois because a lot of people go to the next store and get cam + microphone extremely cheap and then have the most annoying audio ever )
Exactly and if you don't have the money for anything but camera and microphone spend it all on a camera and a microphone ( don't forget audio interface if microphone is analog )and then try to be creative and find stuff that can replace the rest of he equipment. Ask relatives if they have spare lamps to lighten up the scene, use free software to cut and record you videos ( Lightworks = cutting , msi afterburner or Open Broadcaster software = recording footage ) use an old curtain to have a black background in your face cam to dimm sound and to block the view of your room if needed usw.Good post.
I would like to add this. Don`t buy something just because your friends expect it of you, or you think it looks cool, or you think that it could come in handy. That is usually a waste of your money. If you are on a budget then every $ counts, whatever your budget amount is. For example, if you have a 500$ budget and you spend 200$ on your camera and 300$ on cool equipment you never use, then you`ve just paid 500$ for a $200 camera.
So determine exactly the bare bare minimum stuff you absolutely need in order to make the videos you want. Do your research, aka, listen to many different peoples advice and make up your own mind. This way you`ll likely avoid expensive mistakes and buy only what you actually will use.
The grind is soo real though :/ Whatever! I can plow through! The way to have more chance of becoming successful is definitely to upload at least once a week and don't expect instant success it takes time to be noticed on YouTube.
