Don't be afraid to try new things when you are just starting out. When your subscriber base is small, it is much easier to experiment without your fans getting upset.

For the end of your videos make a picture that says: watch my recent video here, subscribe, and here are my social media accounts. Then actually make those links in your videos clickable

I've made over 800 gaming videos on youtube and I'm still making videos frequently. I love making thumbnails and doing videos aswell as with friends if i'm doin co-op series...I barely get any views at all. I get happy when I see 4 views on my videos, and im just always trying to find different ways to get out there, and i'm putting my all into every video I put out. I still only get like 3 views a video XD but i'm not quitting. So this is when I tell you... "NEVER GIVE UP!!" -Matsuoka Shuzo

In my opinion, the best way to bring people to your channel, when it is small, is to be very active on other peoples videos (both big and small channels). HOWEVER, IT IS VERY IMPORTANT HOW YOU GO ABOUT THIS. No matter what the comment is, reply to it with something that is helpful to that person without saying anything about your channel. For example, if someone leaves a comment that says "Man I'd really like my channel to grow more," you could reply "Don't get discouraged, because growth at this level is very difficult, just keep at it and you'll start to see success." Nowhere in that reply did I say "check out my channel," "sub 4 sub," "subscribe to my channel and I'll sub back."

I realize this was a few months ago, but solid advice man. Trying to make friends via other videos is a really good idea that I hadn't considered.
