I use Final Cut Pro X in a 13 inch Macbook Pro.
Not a good idea, since it crashes a lot.

I use Light works free version. Gets the work done! Can put music in the background, speed the video up and add text. :)

What you use can vary depending on how in depth you're trying to go and what you're willing to spin. The default one most people use is Windows movie maker from what i've noticed

Sony Vegas Pro. I used Sony Movie Studio Platinum before but Vegas is smoother and better. Also use Audacity for sound editing and Handbrake for file compression.

I just use iMovie. People tend to be surprised to find out all you can do with it. Granted, I have to be a little creative to pull off more advanced editing, but the end result is great for the price (free!).

I use iMovie as well. I was thinking of moving up to FCPX, so I'm disappointed to hear it crashes a lot.

Well, for me it crashed often cause I was editing in a 13 inch macbook pro. If you got bigger ram, or using an imac, i dont think it would crash as often.

I use Premiere Pro CC and sometimes After Effects CC for editing. I used to use Sony Vegas Pro but it kept crashing.. The monthly subscription to Adobe is well worth it.
