What does everyone use for editing?

I'm thinking about migrating to the new Davinci Resolve 17, but I'm a bit scared of the learning curve. Has anyone here made the leap?

What are you leaping from?

Yes there's a learning curve but you'll be glad you made the effort it is SO powerful!

There are some excellent tutorials on YT from Casey Faris, Billy Rybka, Jamie Fenn, and Mr AlexTech.

Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects. Getting used to the latter

Adobe Premiere is excellent, no doubt, but given Resolve is just as excellent I can't see any reason to pay for the Adobe product.

(as a stand alone perhaps, but they don't do that anymore. The Adobe CC subscription model, which makes people pay a fortune every year to retain access - no way.)

I don't approve of subscription models for ANY computer software, as far as personal use is concerned.


Naturally that's just my opinion.

Personally, I use DaVinci Resolve, it allows me to do some basic editing in a clearly structured way.
