I still use windows movie maker, since I really am just doing some easy edits on gameplay I'm recording from my ps4 right now. I'm just getting started, but would love to hear about low cost options(maybe free) that are beginner friendly.
I think your best bet is to live stream to YouTube via the PS4 or with an external setup using a PC. Be regular and for atleast an hour. Your streams will then become videos that people can watch later. I believe streaming and more uploads out weighs editing and uploading. You dont want to waste time editing if you dont have too. Always think of Time vs Money or Time = Money so the more efficient uou are the easier it will be on you and more videos you can get out there. I dont watch Pewdiepie but I dont think he edits his own videos fully like he would have at the start. Goodluck!

That's kind of how I capture it, but I may just start streaming and the hook up my headphones and capture stuff that way. You're right. It is a pain.

I use Sony Vegas Pro 14

I love it, easy to navigate easy to make edits while still having high quality

I use Adobe Premiere Pro, i tried windows movie maker but decided premiere pro was the right choice. If anyone is curious to why it's mainly cause Premiere Pro is super easy to use. A big choice of render outputs, and many ways to edit the videos and add effects. I haven't experimented to much with it but learning slowly.

Did you edit your key bindings? I chaged it all up so I had my left hand fully active and its saved me a ton of time editing. D for delete is one of the bindings, just make sure you also have delete key still enabled as sometime I find my self still randomly hitting it. I cant remember the rest I just use muscle memory.

I haven't actually done that, but the way you describe it it sounds pretty useful. Definitely gonna look it up! Just have to plan carefully the bindings since my keyboard is kinda sensitive. But thanks for the advice man! much appreciated.

I'm using Adobe Premier Pro since I have the student CC suite, but lately I've been doing some none-vlog edits in DaVinci Resolve 12.5. It has some stuff I enjoy alot, but the Premiere workflow I have kind of gets in the way. Once I graduate, I might make the switch since Resolve is free while the CC suite will cost a fortune.

I'm a bit of a newbie and for now I'm using Camtasia.. It's not the greatest editing software but it won't cost a fortune like some of the others. I paid about $70 for it.

I hope to upgrade soon because there are some features that I'd like that it doesn't provide. But, it's a good place to start!

I use wondershare filmora it's awesome. Easy layout and it has so many features that will make your video fire
