Goodness mostly everyone here is so hardcore XD I use iMovie, like good ol basic iMovie lol. If I'm using a PC I use Pinnacle Studios. If you've never heard of it, that's fine it's a cheap beginner software lol. I've been using these for almost 4 years now and except for the crashing problems haven't really had much to complain about. I wonder- what features do you guys use on those expensive softwares that makes them stand out from iMovie and such?

I'm a ScreenFlow Kinda Guy. It's easier than iMovie (or at least I think it is) and it does what I need, which is the absolute basics.

I use blender for most of my video editing, but it's tricky. Blender is supposed to be used for 3D modeling, not so much this. I have experimented with LightWorks before, but it's hard to catch on to that. What I WANT for video editing is Sony Vegas Pro. I'm planning to buy Vegas 12 first, because 13 came out making 12 at a lower price.

PowerDirector 14 works WONDERS FOR ME! and it should for you too! rendering times for hour and 30 minute videos takes 1 minute, no joke!

I'm currently using windows movie maker. I've been looking for another program trying to get some ideas and prices. I eventually want to grab Sony Vegas but I don't make enough content to justify spending that kind of money yet.

Dont know if youve heard of sony vegas pro 13. its pretty expensive ! the version i use is sony movie studio platinum 13. its bassically the same thing but it doesnt have any 3d modeling or rendering included. got it for a bit less then 80 $ . Recommend it for everyone who doesnt need any crazy editing done !!
