I have Adobe Premiere. I've been using it for years and while I'm definitely not a professional, I'm a lot more confident using Adobe than I am any other software.

That said, I know some of my friends prefer Sony Vegas.

Currently I edit on Premierpro CS6, though if you want a history...I started on Windows Movie maker worked with that for 2 years or so, then moved onto Sony Vegas 8 for another 2-3 years while at the same time picking up Final cut pro 7, then I transitioned off FCP7 onto Premierpro CS6 I used these 3 editors for about 3 years. Then I traded over to Sony vegas 10 for a year or so before getting Premierpro CC which I used for about 2-3 years up to this year when the cost forced me to downgrade back to CS6...I did take a look at FCPX but im more familiar with traditional NLE's than the magnetic timeline layout and though I gave it my absolute best patience and practice it just wasn't really for me... in all fairness CS6 covers almost everything I need it to really...

Adobe Premiere Pro

By the way, could you help me optimize this app, please? I'm using the 2014 version because everything newer is totally laggy on my computer, but I just really want something that would let me do high quality stuff if needed (right now I'm terrible at Premiere but hopefully with some good tutorials it'll get better). Photoshop works totally fine with my computer and Premiere is laggy, but still usable. (Let alone After Effects, even the CS6 version is way too much for my computer.) Thanks in advance

Cyberlink Power Director is my favorite and I get the new version every year, now up to Version 16[DOUBLEPOST=1508618766,1508618488][/DOUBLEPOST]
I use cyber link power director pro it is rated as one of the best editing softwares along with Sony vegas pro. Now I would recommend cyber links because it only about 100$ so you will get a bang for your buck. But, the overall producing rate is slower than Vegas so, a 9min video may take 30mins to produce over Vegas only taking 20mins, it's not a big difference but you will see that it may make a difference. Finally after doing the overlays and effect in power director I then do all the cutting and music in movie maker it's easier and quicker than Vegas or cyber link because it's made for simple task like this so you will zip right through it!
Hope this helped!
I agree I love Power Director!

Hey guys and gals,
Just a quick question here: what does everyone use to edit their videos?
I'm curious to know- I use Final Cut Pro X, which I hear is like the marmite of the editing world, you either love it or you hate it (I obviously love it).

Cheers,
Chris
Hi,

I'm very new to this and I use filmora, I'm a newbie but I love the special effects stuff, like the candle effect in my latest vid. I'll check out Final Cut pro as always good to get a view of other products
