I get the idea of wanting to brand your videos, but I agree that branding is best at the end. I don't mind short intros in the beginning, but I think in general its usually best to get on with the show. Says the YT newb...lol

i've been on youtube for 2 weeks and ive just adde mine now its quite bad but i want to test it out and see how people respond to it

I agree with the others who say only add an intro if its short and of high quality. I think it really turns people off if the intro is just too intense and it lasts for 45 seconds. And before you say it, calm down Michael Scott.

some people dont have any intro or outro at all, i dont think it makes too much of a difference, yeah it looks good, and for outros you can do all the cool video links etc, but yeah its up to you, i think as people get bigger on youtube and start to make decent money then they are able to afford a little cash to get these made for them, so with this being said maybe just wait a while

I agree... just don't do an intro for now, and if you really want to, make it short and snappy.

If it's short, unique, and looks good, then go for it. I wouldn't go too crazy, i'd just keep it simple. An intro definitely helps the "brand" of your channel, but you can also do that by starting off every video with the same sentence or catch phrase, which is how I do it! In the end, its up to you, and how you think an intro would work with the channel!

I'm against intros. Just start your video with the same sentence as Dryve said above ^ and you can use an outro letting people know what to watch next.

I'm undecided I have an intro but I don't always use it I don't know it's kinda iffy but if you're going to use an intro I recommend playing about 2 to 6 seconds of the actual video first :)

IF we do an intro, we show 10-20 seconds of something really cool first.. then intro then start talking into the rest of the video again.. otherwise I personally hate watching intros. I'll skip 10 seconds into anyones video that has an intro.. so for the most part we stopped using intros.

I found a bunch of options for making intros at Fiverr for my channel. I tried a few out and found a very short one that I used and it doesn't appear to be causing people to leave as quickly as the last one.
