Personally I think 2-3 seconds intro is good to go, this will make your channel more authority, easy to remember.
Initially I used 6 seconds intro, but now reduce to 2.5 seconds.

Don't doubt yourself. Your intro is charming and subtle. Not annoying at all. And intros are an important branding tool.

I believe intros are important depending on what your channel is focused on. I.e: mine is makeup related, so when I do makeup tutorials, I do a simple intro showing you the final result to that makeup; but, if I'm doing only a favorites video, or haul or something like that, i add no intro and start directly with the video.

Well hey thats only one person u can't listen to one person u need a bunch of people to tell u that u should change it

Our intros are on the longer side. 18-25 seconds. I think its a matter of knowing what you're presenting. Our videos are laidback and more podcast-y. Our target audience is someone who wants to kick back and chill with us. So 20 seconds isn't bad, but it can feel long if it isn't handled right.

Showing a short clip/joke then our intro helps set up the video/show well. Then making sure that intro is memorably and interesting to see helps even more.

I personally think intros are unneeded. Outros on the other hand can be useful. You can give them a preview of the next video to click on, or a button that lets them subscribe.

I'd say intro is almost always the way to go. It's about subconsciously making your channel aka your brand perceived as more reputable and higher quality. Think of those TV commercials that play 1000000 times....you might be bothered by it initially, but long term it positively affects their reputation whether customers realize it or not. There's a lot of interesting psych stuff you can read up about branding.

I say intro. I want viewers to know that my channel is about me and my interests. I have a pretty short intro of 5 seconds because I don't want to slow down the pace of the video right at the start. I feel like outros are more important to have than intros only because it lets the content creator know that someone finished the video and interacted with you video at the end. I am still experimenting with my outros though.

Personally I never liked watching intros and I skipped them but I read some where that it helps with branding and such!
