I Love YTtalk
It's been a month since I joined youtube and I've done most experiments in getting views and subscribers. One of the things I did is get some from family and friends which gave me a decent subscriber number, a decent view and also a high audience retention rate. But they are not good in repeated views so I tried the sub 4 sub thing. I made lots of subscribers, views also gets up watch time also increases likes comments and certain things went up, they are also repeat viewers in any other video but then they ruined my high retention rate.. But all in all the money average in social blade increases to $44 a year from $12 a year.. So I guess it's still worth it.. :) how about you guys what are your experiences in sub4sub thing?

I'm not a big fan of it. The main reason is that you get the subscribers but not the views. Then again, it's hard to get any sort of views these days unless you are at least around 5k subs, so that's also up in the air. Plus you have a limit as to how many channels you can sub, so you're not going to reach your goals that way by any means.

Even worse is that many of them (inclined to say most) will unsub you soon as they got what they want.

In all honesty I tried it once to experiment when I was still starting and I got a lot of dead subscribers that don't even watch my content and they were clean up after a while. Some will stay yeah that is true but others will just do it and leave, they don't care about you they just care about themselves and once they get what they want they will leave or be a dead subscriber x.x

Okay, I did sub4sub for a little bit (most of my first 80 subs were from sub4sub), and it is a horrible idea. The people who do sub4sub are mostly just wanting to get a higher subscriber number for themselves and don't care about the channels they are subscribed to. Some of the people may be kind and watch, like, or comment on a couple videos, but the vast majority will not even look at your channel and unsubscribe after a day or two. Also, sub4sub means you are not growing your channel because people genuinely enjoy your content, but rather, they subscribe because they are getting a subscription of their own. This means that there are channels with hundreds, even thousands, of subscribers with horrible video quality and low view to subscriber rates. All you get from sub4sub is a bunch of empty subscribers. Another thing is, if you do sub4sub and are not actively watching the channels you are subscribed to, you add to the point that all you get are empty subscribers. Fortunately for me, I stopped doing sub4sub early, and my channel has blossomed because instead of focusing on the amount of subscribers or views I got, I focus on making each video better than the last. When people see good content, they will want to see more, subscribe, and actually watch more of your videos when they come out. However, if your subscribers are just coming because they want a subscription out of you, they're not going to watch your videos regularly. When your focus is on the numbers and not about the content you make, it becomes a problem, and sub4sub is all about the numbers. So, my point is to stop doing sub4sub if you do it and focus on improving your content instead.

As a starting Youtuber myself ( my channel is 3 months old now ), I never did sub4sub but some of my previous subscribers are sub4sub channels. Of course as a new youtuber when I wake up and see that my sub count increased by 1, it will make me very happy. But just after a few weeks, it dropped. And I know who was the guy that unsubed me, I'm not saying I hate the guy though. It's just depressing when watching your sub count drop by 1. I went into his channel to have a look and all his video views ranged from 30 - 60 at most. But he has 1000++ subs. Which means no matter how many times to do sub4sub, you won't have long until your battery runs out, you won't be that happy anymore and you will be dissapointed and eventually stop youtube for good. So, for the conclusion, Sub4Sub will hurt your channel the more you do it. It may be tempting to have subs now, but loyalty from them is what counts these days.
