My rpm numbers are now actually better than they were in November and December, which makes absolutely no sense at all. I've gone back and looked at prior years and saw nothing resembling that. Of course, this was the worst December I've had in 5 years with regard to RPM.

I wonder if it's because it's the Superbowl on Sunday.

i can only view the first 2 days of feb but it looks better than the first 2 in jan:

But I always find the way my graph just pings about all over the place pretty hard to follow if theres any trends at all. it can very easily spike or plummet each day.

February so far 20% better than January. Would still need another 80% to satisfy me :p

Hello!

My earnings in January and February 2016 from YouTube on AdSense are very low. The RPM/CPM for January was extremely low ($0.30), with 40%-45% lower then January 2015. The RPM in December 2015 was $0.90. The problem is that now, in February, I don't see any improvements, even worse the RPM has dropped to an average of $0.25. I'm with YouTube for 3 years and I have never seen this drop and for so long.
I don't know if they change something in the way that ads are displayed but something is just not right. And the "advertisers don't invest that much in the firsts months" explanation doesn't seem cover this huge drop.

I'm trying to see if there is a correlation between region, embedded views, and RPM. Here is my data (roughly):
1. January RPM = $0.30;
2. Embedded Views = 70%;
3. Region/Country= 30% English Views (USA, Canada, UK...), 20% Europe, 30% South America, 20% Rest of the World.
The data posted above has always been this way (2013...2015).

I'm posting this like a last hope in understanding what is happening with the RPM. And if you'll like to share your data or thoughts on this matter it will really help. Also if you have this problem please post your thoughts.

Thanks!

I was worried that it was just me, but your stats are almost identical to mine. Which I suppose is good news .. meaning, it's just a longer than normal January lull & not anything to do with our individual channels or audience demographics.

I really hope that you are right and they didn't change something in the way that ads are displayed (fewer in embedded and more when watched on YT <but also could be other criteria like audience retention, channel size or age, etc.>).

Oops, sorry, I missed the bit about your embedded videos .. okay, so your stats are almost identical to mine, apart from my views are coming from recommended videos & browse features within YouTube, but I guess that rules out your concern over there being fewer ads on embedded videos.

I noticed my January earnings majorly decreased, I compared it to november's month (since CPM was probably higher in December.). I had the same amount of views in Nov and Jan yet the earnings is way different.

Anyone notice that as well, or could there have been a higher CPM in nov also?

I jus notice that my audience dropped after new years! I was actually having +- 100 subs a weeks and growing views but after New Years it has been allot less activity at my channel. I have been a bit less active but still I saw a mayor difference!
