I attached the screenshots for reference. Video got 44k views. Revenue = 0.29$. Monetized playbacks = 14 (lol wtf)
A lot of my subscribers tell me that there are little to no ads whatsoever appearing on my videos. Green dollar sign as usual appears next to the video. And I'm pretty sure my videos are advertiser-friendly. I have no idea what is going on. Any idea?

What I noticed is that viral (rapidly going up and down) videos usually have awful revenue. What you should be aiming at are gateway/sustained viral videos - hundreds or thousands of views every day for many months or even years. Gateway videos usually generate very good revenue - for 44k views for example you should have generated 40-50$ at least.
Another point - you used the f-word many times in this video. You do know that YouTube has speech recognition function. May be this additionally hurts the revenue (but this is just my speculation).

you keep chasing me around the forum attacking me.
There is a difference between "attacking" someone and objectively criticizing. Also, this is the second topic I'm saying something to you so stop lying.

Sorry I intimidate you so much.
It's the other way around, my friend. You don't know what to answer me, because, you know that what I'm saying is true.

It's okay for you to be a gamer
First, you assumed that I was a programmer aka alcoholic and now you assume that I'm a gamer.

You just keep doing your thing.
Keep on that self-righteous attitude, and we will see.

Lol! Wow! You must be really mad at me. Whatever I did to make so mad at me, I'm sorry. Okay.

Let's get back on topic.

Hardly. I have diversified my sources of income long before this so called "Ad-crisis". The only thing I need from YouTube is a place to host my videos and the usual traffic.
I'm curious about the diversify the income. I make animations and animated parodies, any idea what I should focus on to diversify (or if at all possible)?

right now I'm glad I have my part time job instead of relying on youtube rev.

as an animator too, I've just made a merch store, I dont have numbers yet, but thats a possible way to go. You can also try patreon, personally I don't want to use patreon, but have no qualms about others using it.

Have you ever talked with your audience directly (or indirectly, through animations)? If you have only made animations and not talked with your audience, it will be tough, because people don't know you. Yes, they know your work, but they don't know your story.

I have found out that by talking directly to your audience, they are much more willing to support you on Patreon. As for some examples how to easily talk with your audience, you can schedule YouTube live streams or Twitch live streams, doesn't really matter. Those can also serve as good fillers between your animation uploads.

Yeah this is the case with me, ive only spoken directly twice, its a hard type of channel to do this with, but twitch streams have been a lot of fun, might bring one to youtube if i can find a good enough reason to make one there :)

This is totally demoralising for me, especially considering I have to spend money out of my own wallet to to increase my channels interest.

And thanks to YouTubes new rule on 10,000 views to get paid, I won't be seeing revenue for a couple of months. My revenue is declining on a daily basis and will post an update when it finally reaches the big $0.00

Just curious. I would love to hear why you don't want to use Patreon? This is the first time I have heard of it and would like to hear the pros and cons of it. Thanks.
