Hi everyone!

I currently have a music intro to my videos. Is this a good thing? Are there more people who think music intros are annoying than people who think that it's a good thing? Should you chose upbeat music or a more mellow song?

I would really appreciate your help!

Thanks in advance =D

Definitely depends on the type of videos that you are producing I reckon. A lot of prank/funny interview channels do that whole 3D intro thing and that sets up the scene nicely for what will ensue in the video because people generally associate those types of intros with prank videos. In regards to other video types though, attention span is really short nowadays so from my understanding and info that I've been given, going no intro is what's up for beginning channels. Hope this helps!

Hey there,

I was looking at my channel while thinking about what I have to improve. I noticed that the endings of my videos are not consistent.

So here I am, thinking if I should do an Outro. If yes, what should an outro contain (link to social media, link to subscription, link to a previous video)?

I also was thinking about an Intro. But does a Let’s Play channel really need an Intro for every video? Especially if the spectator wants to watch some episodes in a row. I’m speaking of the intros with graphical effects, logo, *bam*, *epic music* fireworks and stuff.

What’s your experience? What has the bigger impact to your channel (intro/outro)? Do I really need them?

Kind Regards

I have this exact same question I want an awesome intro but right now I don't have one already made but Jenna Marbles is like my idol and I absolutely love her intro but do guys think that intros are worth it?

I used to have intros on my videos (about 3-4 seconds) but I decided to remove them and just introduce myself when the video starts.

This way if someone discovers you and they want to watch your playlist(s) they don't have to sit through an intro every single time. I do use an outro though that links to the previous two videos.

2-3 seconds shouldn't be a problem. Me personally, I don't use an intro and won't until I become more established on YouTube. But starting out, I wouldn't recommend intros.
