How do you come up with your video ideas?

Normally they come to me throughout my day or while I'm researching. I keep a little notebook with me to write them down (old school tricks) and i try not to inspire myself a lot on other YouTuber in order not to be reviewing the same content

I like to watch other YouTubers that are in my niche and read blogs that are fitness and health related too. It's a good idea to be aware of what people are already and currently talking about. Pinterest and Instagram are great ways to find inspiration as well. I like to try to solve problems for my audience, so reading forums on your topic is a solid idea to see what people need answered.

For me, video ideas tend to come about when I'm not trying to think of video ideas. I can be watching a random movie then suddenly see something and think "I should talk about that". From there, I'll go and pen down a few ideas. But if I sit down and say "it's time to think of video ideas", it's just not gonna happen

Whenever I'm at work, I think about what's relevant and what do I feel like making a video about? Like recently I saw some Pokemon cards, so I am totally gonna open some in a video at some point. Maybe even a video of me trying to play volleyball, cuz that s**t's been my jam recently.

What do u guys do to come up with ideas? what stages do you pass through? how long? E.T.C...

For me Most of my ideas come from when i am sleeping and when im watching other vids. I Write them up in a word document and when i need ideas i just look through it and pick out the ones i need/want.

WADDUP MATT! I am a college student so I'm always out and about, in class, moving to class or in my car. I always have ideas for videos just based on my channel concept alone because the topics and questions are so endless. If I come up with a funny concept or play on words or interesting question to base a video off of I text the idea to myself, a quick script write up or video plot. Then as soon as I get home or get to my laptop I write it out to a word file or excel file. I have about 15 video ideas for the future that I just haven't got around to making yet. Trends are constantly changing so I have to move ideas around. For me, my channel concept has been kicking a** and making it so easy for me to generate ideas. Tweak your channel concept to fit your ideas, and trust me you can go forever.

When doing solo, I would sit down and jot down anything that seemed interesting whether good or bad. Remember 100 ideas can lead to a few good ones. Then I'll pitch the idea to friends and see what they think. Then run with it

Most ideas I get come in a bunch at a time. Sometimes when I can't sleep, watching certain YouTubers, doing something random, or taking a shower. I also notice I'll be feeling kinda stressed that I can't think of any ideas, and then I'll just look at a random object and suddenly a ton of ideas pop up. Sometimes they come randomly, and sometimes they come due to stress about them haha. But I get a ton of ideas when I can't sleep. When I think of an idea I write it down in my notes on my phone, and then later plan it out on a google doc. We have a ton of ideas in google drive, so I will then choose some videos to plan several weeks before filming.

Actually SAME! Ideas always pop up in the middle of nowhere for me, especially in the most inconvenient of places! I get so afraid of forgetting them that I just drop everything to get it down somewhere. Especially during chores. My mom probably has so many questions as to why her (already super weird daughter) just suddenly drops everything and scurries off somewhere in the middle of doing dishes, with soap still dripping off her hands. Does anyone have a different problem where they have lots of good ideas, but only a few of them actually make good scripts?
