Why Do You Youtube?

How did you start?

Well I voted for the top 3 options, I was heavily inspired by other YouTubers to begin with, but the main reason and push behind it was I really wanted to share my passion with like minded people, so it was also started as a hobby. I did have a lot of encouragement and support from friends also, people who would keep telling me to stick at it. I've been on YouTube now for just over a year with my channel and I'm really enjoying it. Aw and its Movie Reviews I specialise in, even though I wouldn't regard myself a 'movie critique', but I also branch off into general movie talk and other geeky things like unboxings, because thats what I am at the end of the day, a big geek with a huge passion for film.
 
To be honest it gives me something to do and helps me build my makeup portfolio. One of my closest friends got me into doing this. I was a huge youtube junkie and been watching people for years but never did anything. I was always scared. Now since my friend pushed me into doing this is feel like I have a purpose. I hope one day I can increase my skills and do amazing things on my channel.
 
It gives me the chance to take something I love to do and make it mean something more. Ive played games for years and its always been a "waste of time". Being able to do something I love that also entertains others would be such a great thing.

I do it because it brings me joy. I like playing video games and joking around, and it makes me happy when people watch my stuff. It makes me feel more productive which has done wonders for my depression - instead of treading water and that little voice in the back of my head saying I'm lazy and wasting my life, I can be satisfied in the knowledge I have done something productive that also makes me happy.

I love this! I couldn't agree more! It's so amazing that there is a place full of so many categories and personalities!! It's great! I'm excited to grow and be a part of this.

That sounds like the perfect fusion of passion and purpose!
 
I always checked out youtube to look at hotels and places on which i was planning on staying. It started there for me doing room videos and now moving on to trip vlogs, if people enjoy them and find them helpful then great:)
 
I'm really curious as to know why other people decided to start making youtube videos. I decided to start because one of my favorite youtubers inspired me with his sincerity. Why did you guys start making videos?
 
I started making videos because I needed to do something creative. Previous job was very creative... This one not so much.
So I made a skiing video and was hooked, I then ran out of content so decided to do a travel vlog. Now i'm enjoying making a video every week :)
