I watched a video from Creator Insider saying if you want to check if your video will be monetized or not, upload it unlisted. Check within a few hours. If it’s green then publish it, if it’s yellow then we have to appeal for it.

I also remember our 2 Power rangers videos disapproved in Adwords because of violence. Can’t get the reasoning behind it. It was running well in Adwords for some time then suddenly it was disapproved. Adwords might be affected as well?

Yep, adsense started disapproving ads a while ago as well. The requirements of what sort of videos can be used as ads was tightened I assume. The first ad I had disproved was of Freaks style - the toy shark chases the girls around the playground.
 
I am to small for YouTube to care... *cries in corner* - I kid , I kid. I've never seen my videos being removed, but I did had some weird copyright claims last year.

We had another video on our compilation channel turn yellow, I appealed and it went back to green.. and now this morning its yellow again? It was, however, yellow before I published it. So I dunno what's wrong.. It is a nerf video.. with key words like war, battle guns and such.

This has happened a lot to me the last days, videos that have been approved before turning orange again. I think it's because they contain words that are cleaned out due to the purge that is going on. Things like bad baby, bad kid and prank.

Yes, I agree. I do think they are targeting other words now too.. maybe even nerf now?
 
I will make my videos as friendly as I can without becoming a complete borefest. I was watching some scenes of Home Alone recently and couldn't stop thinking that any of it would be enough to remove your video straight away. Things like escaping through the window, electrocuting a criminal, climbing up a bookcase and crashing down, stealing something from a shop, running away from a police officer trying to stop you, throwing a hot iron into someones face, travelling alone in a plane without your parents, scare a pizza delivery guy with a scary movie shooting bullets, throwing a scary spider onto someone and the list goes on and on. I'm sure many parents who complain about kids videos currently will gladly watch home alone again with their kids this Christmas not thinking for a second it could harm the poor kids brain...
I agree some videos that people put on should be banned forever (e.g. pregnant else/peppa pig stuff) but I'm sure all of us enjoyed bugs bunny, tom & jerry, home alone and some other stuff when we were all kids and nothing bad happened to us right?

I'm also removing any reference to baby, kids, children, nursery rhymes, war, attack, etc out of my tittle, tags and description form now on. Everyone is jumping on the Funny Baby or Funny Kids bandwagon now, I would guess that could be the next purge soon.

It does seem that things have become overly restrictive, but I'm sure when I talk to YT today they will tell me that the AI will learn through the appeals process. I notice that LOL Surprise doll videos are all demonetized. The dolls pee, there's not much we an do about that...it's one of their selling points! I've been sent a giant box of baby dolls by Moose Toys. You can be sure that I will not be calling them babies in any way shape or form in this video!!!!

Also videos of kids tasting food are getting hit and some slime and squishy videos and I can't see anything triggering the flag on them. There are many demonetizations that make total sense to me, but some are head scratchers.

I had asked YT for a list of forbidden words/topics a while back. Perhaps I will get more clarity this morning, but somehow I doubt it. Just another day on the exciting YouTube roller coaster!!

Overall, I'm actually very, very happy about this purge.
