I don't think Youtube desires to separate gaming fron other stuff. Youtube gaming is more like creating a competition for twitch.

Not sure if there's already a post for this, but YouTube announced that a new site is coming specifically for those of the gaming variety. An upgraded livestream system and a way to segregate content by vudeo game titles.

What do you all think of the news? Any concerns, or otherwise?

Personally, I would like to know what will happen to channels of varied content, as well as how SEO will be effected on regular YouTube. Will gaming results be removed from search results on normal YouTube? Or will they still appear, but redirect you to YouTube gaming? :0

Interesting thing this new platform [emoji14]

I think it's an attempt to compete against Twitch. I think Youtube has the better platform to do this. The look&feel of Youtube now is better than Twitch and it's easier to find videos in Youtube. So I think it will be interesting to see how Youtube will do this.

I doubt it will be able to dethrone Twitch as a streaming platform. Besides, let's hope the netcode will be better than the others.

Yeah it's a completely new streaming platform for Youtube, not a separate gaming site. So the Youtube we have today will still be exactly the same, but now gamers will have the option to livestream using Youtube rather than Twitch.

I think it's great as I'd rather keep all of my content on a single site than multiple ones.

I've been expecting something like this since the Google/Twitch buyout fell through. It will be interesting to see how it all pans out. There are a significant number of Twitch streamers who simply won't move over to YouTube streaming, but this site looks to be a wholesale move of the Gaming YouTubers to a dedicated location. It will be potentially huge for those who have a YouTube audience but no established Twitch presence.

@Michael I think you're gonna want to sticky this. It's the biggest YT change in a long time. ;)
I'm sure Youtube is able to compete with Twitch. Youtube has such better look and feel, their audiences are much larger and videos are easier to find.

I think in the end Youtube will win big time, even though I'm a daily viewer of Twitch streams
