ya sure. Ive tried almost all of them except of Facebook. Does Facebook really help?
Well, I guess I've gotten the most results from Facebook :)

I've moved this to the strategy/technique advice forum. ^^

I haven't promoted any of my content -- I definitely don't have time for that.. =S Maybe content will do better with promotion, but I'm thinking YouTube's algorithm can do most of the heavy promotion work for us if it is used correctly. I have no idea how to use it correctly, but I don't think promotion is the key to YouTube. But I haven't figured anything out yet, so what do I know....? lol

Unfortunately it's just like work, some stuff you love doing, some stuff you hate. But if you don't do the stuff you don't like you get fired :) Being successful on youtube requires many ingredients to get it right and promotion is just a very big portion of the success just as research, SEO, planning & optimization are key to always improve further.
Just accept it that it's part of youtube, don't try to resist it but embrace it. Make it a challenge for yourself if that motivates you. Do it for half an hour to an hour each day and then do the things you love to get happy thoughts again :)

100% this. I don't enjoy promotion either but it is part of the Youtuber's life. My advice is to try out different platforms, research them and put in genuine effort to see which works best for you. Every channel is different so while Twitter might work for one person it could be a dead zone for another.

Give each try enough time to generate data in your Youtube analytics (say, two to three months each) and then trim away whatever doesn't work. Slowly put together a promotion package that works for your channel and that you can live with doing for each video.

Then just spend the day getting one sub and make more and better video that will pull people in on their own
