Well yes, that, and no reward nor recognition for months and months of hard work. There is a deep human desire to be acknowledged, appreciated, and loved. If no one gives a hoot about all your hard work, of course it's demotivating. Those who are not seriously committed to the craft for the craft's sake, drop out.

For those in it for the money, the system is setup to weed them out, as the first 6 months you are working for less than peanuts. Those in it as a get rich quit bail after a few months when the millions don't roll in.

Once those two groups are weeded out, at the 6+ month time, those who remain are serious and committed. Sort of like an unpaid internship .

Very well said and again appreciate eall the advice!

I feel like one thing that really motivates me is that I understand that all this takes blood, sweat and YEARS (not tears).

Blood meaning the PASSION behind the craft. Passion is driving factor for your channel, brand, etc to have a lasting effect.

Sweat meaning the hard work behind the Passion. The long hours and the dedication spent on the craft.

And most importantly the Years symbolizing patients. And most the time I feel like this is the missing piece for most people. This part will come easier to those who truly have the Passion for their craft.

Sorry if this got really cheesy. This probably goes under the "how to be successful" forum, but I feel that understanding the "years" part, really does motivate me.

Well said! We see in the media "overnight " success all the time. But there's usually 5-10 years of hard, painstaking work that goes to make that overnight success.

Yea a lot of people want to do youtube for the fame and because they think it requires no work. But it does and only the people that really love making videos stay. I couldn't have agreed with you more.
