I had one guy private message me about 30 times asking me to sub4sub him though which I never did.

Yeah, I actually had to block that person from posting on my videos and messaging me

I get the most spam comments on my covers more than i do anything else. I also get those, "Hi your channels great but check out mine" copy and past spammers.

Happened more a while ago then it does now though

On my gaming channel I would usually get at least 1 spam comment per video.

Every once in a while, I get sub4sub comments, and I do get all-out spam-style spam on the really old videos, as well.

It's just part of YouTube, all you can do is ignore and/or delete them. The more popular your videos get the more people will spam, comment random insults and send you messages about their amazing new network.
