Hey.

I've recently tried to be active with a few forums related to FIFA16(the game I play and post videos about) but I got some hate on my vids, dislikes, telling me to quit etc

That stuff doesn't bother me tbh but I was just wondering why people do it lol.

Congrats haha. Jokes on them since a dislike and a like are treated the same by the Youtube algorithms. I don't have a dedicated hater yet, but I did have somebody go through and dislike a few of my videos in one fell swoop.
Lucky guy. Some d-bag from Poland dislikes every single video I put up. Within an hour of me uploading I get that inevitable dislike, which looks pretty bad seeing as in that first hour I only get 5 or so likes.

There is this massive misconception about dislikes doing bad for your channel and it can effect your self esteem. Like many other people here have said, dislikes are good for your channel like likes and comments. it's a form interaction and the more you have of them the better your youtube video will perform in the youtube system. I had a troll about 18 months ago who was giving me about 6 dislikes per video and it really got me down, but after doing some homework on it it turns out it actually helps your video perform better. I then made a video on how dislikes only help your videos and the dislike troll went away.

The truth is that these people who dislike your videos are only helping your channel grow. It's better to actually have a bunch of dislikes than having none at all!

Stats and SEO stuff aside, if you have barely any dislikes at all it means either
1.) Not that many people saw your stuff
2.) Practically only your dedicated fanbase watches your stuff
3.) Nothing you say is personal or that opinion-based, and doesn't incite anybody to think enough to disagree with something (and there's people on the 'net eager to disagree with anything). In other words, the content is intellectually bland.

This applies at large numbers though. Like say when you have 1k likes to 1 dislike. I feel like a healthy video that actually promotes some form of interesting discussion (which isn't simply preaching to the choir, hence #2 up there) should have dislikes at least around 2 to 3%, if not more.

Now, I hate dislikes just as much as the next guy (and I get a LOT of them) but I have a lot of likes as well. And plus, it can show me what I'm doing that's making people dislike my content and I'll try to improve to better it. So I guess it isn't all that bad as long as you have a decent like/sub ratio and so on.

So, normally I wouldn't be suspicious about a dislike here or there or even care to know who it was, but recently I've noticed a pattern of 3 dislikes on almost every video I upload. Could this be a dislike troll/bot? I'm kind of wanting to discuss this a little bit. Does anyone else have this problem? Does anyone feel that YouTube should implement some kind of security to ward off dislike trolls/bots? Even though dislikes count toward being found in a search engine, it still hurts ratings and can potentially drive viewers away. I know that when I find a video that has a good number of dislikes, it leaves a bad first impression. Tell me your thoughts on this. I would love to hear them!

Wow dude that actually sucks, it blows my mind how some people can be that directionless with their own lives that they can go around spreading that type of negativity

Dislikes are welcome, I mean any kinda attention brought to my videos only helps me. The worse someone could do is do nothing at all.

Liking, disliking, and commenting helps my video :)

It used to upset me like crazy, I used to have bad mood after looking at dislikes, but as the time passed, I got used to it, so I just ignore it. Now it doesn't affect me at all. But I hate Dislikes.
