YouTubers Make Too Much?

The thing is people work hard jobs - alot harder than mine and make minimum wage.
Its understandable someone would look at a guys business that grossed $650,000 in 1 month and feel upset because "he just plays games".

The funny thing is the anger is misplaced. If you think its wrong that he makes so much why are you not angry at the millions of people that watch.

He just puts it out there - they are the ones that 'buy' it.

Its the same as being angry at McDonald's for making billions in a month while the corner diner struggles. Is it McDonald's fault people buy their food over the diner, or is it the customers who choose.

I think it's fair, they have worked their asses off to be where they are right now, and I guess it's not easy for any of them dealing with the pressure that millions of viewers give, and making them happy... knowing that a single mistake can ruin your youtube career

He may have millions of viewers but the average Joe doesnt know who these people are. They think these Big Tubers just turn on a computer one day and film stuff to get truck loads of money.

They have all been doing this for years - some over a decade to get the audience they have.

Of course youtubers make too much money, but so does the Kim Kardashians, google employees. And then there are people who make to little like teachers, soldiers, etc. So to put my point bluntly, life is unfair and people need to get over it. Who cares if soldiers get less than the Selena Gomez or teachers that get paid typically less than garbage men. Lets get over it and play meinkraft.

I think he deserves every last dime that he earns. The market determines the dollar value of someone's work, nothing else. Some people get upset when they confuse dollar value with importance or what they perceive as fairness. Every job's value is determined by market forces, so there's no such thing as "too much" other than just a point of argument.

This, exactly this.

You have to understand that he is among the very top of the YouTube ladder, equivalent to Tom Cruise in Hollywood. You don't get as many viewers as a small country without making a LOT of money. In reality, YouTubers don't make nearly as much as their mainstream counterparts.

1) That was an estimate of his earnings.
2) He still has to pay people from that.
3) He works his ever living a** off.
4) He donates a ton to charity.
5) A nice dude, providing a nice service, making nice money.
6) Also YouTubers don't have 401ks so he is making a retirement account AND investing in other businesses, groups, game developers. He is also a part of Red Giant (sp?) a company, and investing/being a part of Revelmode. Mark isn't Rich, he has WEALTH. He is being smart with this money so others can benefit from it. This is all thru the grape vine~ :)

Honestly, he f*****g deserves that money, making all those videos isn't as hard as being a doctor but that's just how life is, should actors, football players also be making less money? It's just the world that it is, he's a good guy, he gives a lot in charity and I like his character and how he acts in his video.

You gotta be aware of that he's one of the best YouTube gamers out there and there aren't many like him.

If Kardashians can be paid a lot of money, why shouldn't YouTubers?

Well, he IS an entertainer. He only makes about 15 million a year... Oprah Winfrey on the other hand, makes about 75 million a year. Now you tell me who makes too much, lol.
