YouTube is Removing Videos - Are You Affected?

I guess no one knows.. I guess play it safe for now. Make content friendly for everyone? And I'm guessing since we have "bad kids" in almost all our titles now.. that we will have to eliminate that.. even though I don't see Vlad or Ryan getting hit for using "Bad kids" in their titles.

This remind me of Trolls.. all cupcakes and rainbows.. and your right.. that's what its going to have to be. I'm guessing all nerf wars are out too! Ugh!

All of our videos with that title got hit too. We don’t have nearly as much like that compare to Vlad, so I can’t imagine. Personally I think YouTube is heading in the right direction with kids content! I do agree that what’s approciate for a 6 year old might not be approciate for a 2 year old, so I wish YouTube can filter it out for kids approciate age group better!

Agreed. This feels like realignment of an algorithm that went out of control and snowballed in a very weird direction. It feels necessary. I do agree with KiddieToysReview's concerns and frustrations mentioned in this thread, I really do. But on the flip side, it's incredibly stifling creatively to be basically forced into a very narrow subject matter in order to get views -- bad baby poops on peppa pig with elza watching or whichever variation.

But seriously, sorry to hear that, I know how hard you work on your channel.

It's a complete massacre. Many of our completely safe videos filmed with our baby have been hit. I'm talking about completely utterly baby safe nothing but songs and ball pit balls and colors.

It's like they took an AK-47 and spraying bullets at every kids channel. Beat everyone into submission.

There will not be any outcry about this.

When it hits other verticals (I won't name which) then there will be a huge outcry of "unfair" "why us"[DOUBLEPOST=1511064483,1511064000][/DOUBLEPOST]

I just had another look, you've got "bad kids" etc words all over. That's why you've been hit. No point changing it now to prevent hits, I think they locked in changes - ie changes now to t/t/d have no effect, unless you can appeal. But it may be worthwhile to remove all references to "bad baby" and anything Toy Freaks tags associated, including all words such as "steal" "attack" etc to make the channel safe going forward and in the very slim chance they realize they over-reached and rescan all the videos again. They did this a few times with demonetization, this may be similar.

Anyways, that's what i'm doing now...

Ahh.. gee.. Yea I tired yesterday to clear out all those key words on my newer vids but they are were still hit.. even some with out those words.. just toy review ones. I have about 30 to appeal today. So looks like I have a lot of work to do before we appeal.

Wow. This is scary. We just uploaded our 4th nerf video and we’re planning to film more. But I was talking with my wife and told her about TF and she said “now what? What will happen to our nerf planned videos? And we just stared at each other for a moment. Then I said “I dont know” I guess it’s really back to “ Hello guys today we are going to unbox...(insert toy). Wondering what will happen with Twin Toys which features awesome Nerf Gun. They even feature their baby in some of their video. Stunned...

It’s going to be a merry Christmas for the toy companies because there are going to be a lot of toy unboxing videos this coming weeks because of this.

Yea, I wonder about extreme toys TV.. we love that channel.. but they are also all about nerf wars and even the kids "attack" their parents. Ughhh... I don't drink.. but I feel I need one now..

Let's get a list going of tags blocked to advertisers on kids channels:

Procedure
--------------

Turn off adblockers
Take your PC, laptop, Commodore 64, smartphone, ipad, Tandy TRS, whatever
Clear the cobwebs where applicable and clear your browsers
Logout of all google accounts
Go to your favorite (or most hated) kids channel
Run their videos, see if ads run
Compare which keywords, tags, titles ads run on and which they don't
Take into account that ads are served in sequence, then there's a pause (so you don't get too p****d off) then they restart, so you have to reload a few times sometimes

This may be going deeper folks - as in, Youtube doesn't want us to "exploit" and "make money off kids" period.
As in, no more monetized videos featuring kids on camera.
This has been the general feeling I'm getting reading through all the various news media, all the articles this year and last.
I have a feeling the only thing monetized will be the hands video - the ones where they make all that colorful stuff, and of course LBB and friends.
Perhaps also, the channels where the kids are not visible, will be safe the various cars, trucks, thomas channels.
I have a bad feeling the powers that be don't want kids to be used as "slaves" to make money for parents any more.

I think you are right on.. We have a thomas channel that doesn't feature the kids and I have not been hit as of yet.. I'm thinking we should go back to just toy reviews for now.. or even upload a few older ones to too how they do before pouring more money into this.

I think you are right on.. We have a thomas channel that doesn't feature the kids and I have not been hit as of yet..

I don't want to be right about this. i want to be very very wrong.
Now, I need to get into the deep dark corner of our garage, and pull out all those Thomas sets of early 2016.
I think it was a good idea saving those not dumping them off on ebay.

If anyone has a few minutes, they can run vidoes on some pure toy play non-skit channels (thomas, cars, train sets, trucks, etc) and see if ads a running. @FamilyToyReview, @JackJack have you guys been hit with demonetizations? I would do it but it's after 12am and this has been a long day.
