YouTube is Removing Videos - Are You Affected?

i could see how this could upset alot of people but someone on our staff has children and some channels say they are for kids but have extremely inappropriate content. Just because its a familiar kids character doesn't mean its for kids. iv seen cursing, racism, vulgar dance moves, and sexual content. sorry not sorry gotta protect the kids. Not saying all channels are like this but unfortunately the bad apples have spoiled the bunch...

No idea. All I know, is after suffering a major hit in March 2017 (reduced to 30% expected income) is that there were alot of inconsistencies in what got to stay monetized and what didn't. Almost everything turned yellow, and after appealing 50% was confirmed monetizable and the other 50% not (something like that). No logical answers or one on one advice was given besides the typical copy paste scripts. The only way to survive it was to come up a whole set of new ideas that were advertiser friendly, work twice as hard and not worry about what everyone else was doing. After successfully doing that we are now confronted with the possibility of adpocalypse 2.

Were kids channels affected by the first adpocalypse?
Im seeing our payout rates go down in the last two reported days. Perhaps adpocalypse again.

Idk sometimes at like YouTube staff don’t have brains...like ok all the sudden my video isn’t appropriate? When did you figure this out? After 2 years of it being up? I had a video up for 2 years and it was the only video on muni channel then bam, removed..

Can someone pleas explain this?

Stolen from a popular channel, tags full of names of popular channels, including those that were deleted recently (toy freaks, toystosee, etc.) but videos are fully monetized and promoted left and right. Videos have children in swimwear. The channel posts them to the tune 7-8 a day - stealing is easier than producing.
Is it possible to report stolen videos by non-original content owner?

The demonetization isn't done by YouTube staff, but actually by something that have no brains. The so called AI, which is utilises machine learning, tags, tittles and video intelligence to tell something is not okay with your video. Also it takes months for whole YouTube video library to be scanned. I had ContentID activated two months ago and I still get matches to this day for videos uploaded 3-4 years ago. Google help says it can take up to 6 months to scan the whole YouTube library for matches, so I guess for advertiser friendly videos it can take even more, since it uses more sophisticated algorithm here.

... just had a look at it - I sent Kaycee & Rachel channel a message a few days ago via their page, their stuff is being copied all over the place - whether they issue dcma takedowns is up to them really...

for the other stuff copied, you can report the videos for child abuse - reference the delete by Yt channel, the official blog post, and the videos are against updates community guidelines.

it would take an army of people to identify and take all these copies down!

Yep... Down 50% what we were on two channels the day after the articles announced advertisers boycotting... Yayyyyy. Hopefully it recovers quick.
Not effected much, probably 5-10%. Your revenue may be more related to the black friday boom / saturday & sunday lul.

Thought that too however not the same as last year where it peaked the remainder of November. Will update again once the month is over.
