YouTube is Removing Videos - Are You Affected?

Nope nothing removed.. just demonetizations, several were reviewed and confirmed as unsuitable.. I think because I still had bad kids in the title and didn't realize that's why I was getting hit until it was to late by the confirmed review. I did, however remove all the bad kids. I can see about the "tape".. ugh and that one video is all that is running us right now.. **cries in dark corner**..

It seems they are hitting all the large channels right now.. probably just going down the list. We didn't get the yellow $ until a few weeks after you started getting them. So It's only a matter of time.[DOUBLEPOST=1511353283,1511353175][/DOUBLEPOST]

I dunno.. I have a video on my son's birthday.. short 3 min video of a pinata, kids, gifts and cake.. and they reviewed it saying it's unsuitable and then confirmed it.. I just don't know anymore.

It's hard to tell - I had a video with Mom dressed as police, kids hypnotize her with fidget spinner. then tape her to the police car with different colored tape. It uploaded green, went yellow, was reviewed and went green, then a few days later went yellow, went for manual review again and then green. This was over a 2 week period or so. Then it was fine until this weekend when it went yellow again. So it's been in yellow 3 times and green 3 times. Who knows for sure?

Don't delete the videos, just make them private until you know further. Do you know that if a video is private only the name of it can be seen but not the rest, even from YouTube staff?

Yeah, I believe this is true. I once had an issue with an endscreen and I contacted YT support about it. They replied that they can't access it to see the issue because the video was set to private.

Having said that, I agree with @KiddieToysReview - It's probably not worth the risk. If a video is uploaded to YT, then ok maybe 1st line support don't have access to private videos (to be compliant with their privacy TOS), but I find it very to believe that they don't have "admin access" to it (2nd line support) or that the algorithm has access to it. For example, I'm pretty sure content-id still works on private videos.

This got me thinking. The ramifications for this issue has the potential to affect the whole of Youtube (not just the kids space). - YouTube generates a lot of revenue for google through the adwords/adsense program but the costs are also huge (due to storage space and bandwidth costs) The result is that YouTube is only just about profitable. The margins are very low. If the conclusion of this kids content issue is that Youtube need to manually review uploaded content to check it, then that will increase their costs exponentially - probably enough to tip the balance from profit to loss.

Add to that, the political pressure on all social media (facebook, YouTube and twitter) following on from the Russian interference in the US elections by using social media to influence voters - For anyone not following the story - Basically there is a chance that social media platforms will be legally responsible for the content that appears on their platforms (something that is not currently the case - it's not written into law) - If the law does change and/or public pressure increases forcing YouTube to manually review content, then YouTube would no longer be profitable in its current state. How long would that be sustainable for them? How long would shareholders allow that to happen? These are very fragile times for YouTube.

I know the answer to this and actually further to it, but unfortunately the NDA doesn't allow me to reveal it, sorry. And I also have good proof that the yellow demonetized icon AI and this kids purgepocalypse AI is a modified ContentID with references inside whats good and whats not for advertisers and kids. You know, the AI evolves, yesterday it was just for copyright protection, then for advertisers protection, today its for kids protection and tomorrow it will be used for our own protection.

... hahaha ... well one thing is for sure, I will never ever get a Google Home ... I don't want no G AI in my house sniffing around & listening in to sounds[DOUBLEPOST=1511361687,1511356247][/DOUBLEPOST]Looks like UK mega channel Toys AndMe is being purged (or they are removing videos manually). All their bad kids drive parents car videos are gone, and other bad baby stuff. I hope they pull through, they work really hard and have great content and a strong fan following.[DOUBLEPOST=1511363492][/DOUBLEPOST]Vietnamese powerhouse Kid Toy Media is gone. Managed by Studio71 MCN, they were famous for the "Masha's XYZ was crushed under Car of Spiderman, Hulk, Elsa, Joker" etc. XYZ was everything from watermelons, toys, cakes, balls and everything else you can find at the local toy store, supermarket and op shop. Incidentally, Studio71 also managed Webs & Tiaras, which is also gone.

Seen that yesterday. Waiting to see some comments from these people themselves. Sorry to see your real time analytics earlier, it was brutal to see. Hope thinks pick up real fast!

Employees might not have access to private videos BUT think.. this is not human's work, it's AI's. That's all I can say now. This is just a hint.

YouTube staff under certain circumstances can view private videos, such as when you submit an appeal. It's also possible to receive a pending strike for a private video. Deletion is probably the best move.
