What does family and friends think of your channel (if you told them)?

I have only told like two friends, and they thought it was cool and they were supportive. I haven't told any of my other friends or any of my family yet. I just think they will think I'm crazy, and I know my parents wouldn't support it.

My mom is as supportive as she can be. My brothers and sister are.... dismissive about the subject. I pretty much refuse to tell my father.
Of the two friends I have (not including the ones I've met through YouTube) they're pretty much the same, with one friend refusing to subscribe because, and I quote, he "doesn't want to give me 'pity views' when he sees me having an off day"
In short, support is minimal at best. lol

Dad: You're wasting your time
Mum: What's even mean
Sister: You're a weirdo and wasting your time
My Niece: Uncle Sam is cool

Needless to say my family has mixed opinions.

Yeah I have only told my sisters and they seem to think its cool. I might wait til I get a certain milestone before I even think about telling anyone else. It's nerve wracking[DOUBLEPOST=1474661414,1474661224][/DOUBLEPOST]

Wow did he actually say pity views lol that's probably why I wont tell anyone else. I don't need to get roasted for trying something different. He might change his mind when he sees how much you grow. You've only just started.

My family and... friend... are very supportive of my videos!!!! I just straight up told them i had one and was doing this!

At first I was super nervous about showing them because I'm a little self conscious about my voice and animating skills. My family knew about it but they weren't allowed to see my videos because I wasn't ready for that. Eventually, I started showing really close friends then started expanding and now I'm way more comfortable with showing people but still not that comfortable to show my family haha

Y'know, I think this has to be the most asked question on this website - outside of "WHAT AM I DOING WRONG??"

I've said this on a million threads before, but I'll say it again because I'm narcissistic happy to help bump your thread back to the top!

My family and friends have been incredibly supportive, and it's even better when they're creators themselves - because they understand the process a little better and are aware of the hardships we go through to get our content produced and noticed while still finding a balance with our everyday lives.

They've easily gone on to become my biggest supporters - some of them I even met through this very website or through other groups geared towards budding YouTubers!
