All the best with your side job/hobbie passion thing. No desire for social influence, it's cool that you just want to do your own thing and have others enjoy the content you create. Maybe you could bring your teaching career onto Youtube, BAM. Two birds, one stone.

You seem like a chill guy, I think that's a pretty realistic mindset to have. Considering it a hobbie, not going hardcore on the goal setting, I think that works just fine and clearly it does because you've got yourself a decent car channel going there.

Yup, I am content. But, don't for a second think I wouldn't love to hang that silver plaque on the wall one day! I just think staring yourself blind on a goal can have adverse affects and actually hinder yourself!

-Do you want to be a full time Youtuber?
Sure. If I ever get to that stage.

-Is Youtube a stepping stone/hobby that you hope will lead to other things?
I'm not sure about this one. I like making videos and I do expect getting views from it. If I didn't get any views, I would have stopped youtube very early on. I mean, why do something that doesn't give something back? Like, sure, the satisfaction of making a video is one thing but you don't need youtube for that. If its on youtube, you expect getting views.

That's why I always compare youtube with having a garden/orchard. Something like preparing the soil, sowing the seeds, nurturing them, getting better with your skills and knowledge, fertilizers if needed, a lot of patience, understanding some plants will die, some will be stunted, some might not even grow but by the end I want me some fruits for my labor. Pretty similar with tending a youtube channel overall where the plants are the videos and the channel is the piece of land.

-Do you have an ultimate subscriber/viewer count goal?
No. I want all that I can get. :D (Greedy little...*cough*)

-Do you want to have social influence?
Not really. I want a quiet life and just do my own thing.

-Are you using Youtube to market your skills?
Nope. Maybe one day I could use it for something?

-Do you want to be a full time Youtuber?
Sure! I am lucky enough to be able to do that now

-Is Youtube a stepping stone/hobby that you hope will lead to other things?
It's been a hobby that lead to being a paid hobby xD

-Do you have an ultimate subscriber/viewercount goal?
I never started with a goal, but once i hit 50k, i thought 100k would be possibly reachable, and that's mainly because youtube themselves see it as a goal to reach, with the fun little play button. Now that I've reached 100k I have no idea what to reach for, I've already got a lot more subs than I ever thought was possible so anything more is really a huge bonus!

-Do you want to have social influence?
No. I make silly parody cartoons, I wouldn't want to have influence.
Then again, If i can encourage people to try their hand at animating, that would be awesome :D

-Are you using Youtube to market your skills?
I guess so, the reason I joined youtube was just to dump my video's so I could link them onto art sites. but then youtube ended up becoming my go to place to post my work :)

I just want to say, that youtube has given me SO MUCH. a place to be entertained by hundereds of channels (forget paying for channels on tv!) being able to share my own videos, and get feedback from around the world... FOR FREE! - and now not even just for free, but youtube ACTUALLY give ME money (it sounds crazy!). now youtube has given me the very real opportunity to make a living from a hobby I thoroughly enjoy, and hands that same opportunity to anyone, no matter their education or age etc. And that is awesome :)

My goals change.
At first it was a hobby aiming for a litte pocket money to help with bills.
Now my aim is a silver play button.
A dream could be to rely on the income for me to give up 'normal work' and concentrate full time on YouTube.

You have a groovy channel dude xD I like how quirky it is. I've always had short hair but I've been growing my hair for nearly two years now. I've subb'ed for the hair vids. In what ways have you been involved in theatre these last 20 odd years?

Thanks! I've been acting, directing, writing plays, stage managing, building sets...you name it.

That's an interesting analogy mate. Yeah I can't imagine someone youtubing for a LONG amount of time if it never prospered into anything, essentially people are putting their videos online to be seen by others. Funny you mention about the land and the plants, my first video is a satire that uses a similar analogy for 'MAXIMISING PROFITS'[DOUBLEPOST=1476467654][/DOUBLEPOST]
I hope to get some kind of company, especially in the rough time I'm going through.
I'd be careful putting yourself on the Internet if your feeling fragile. Some people will talk to you like you're not human. Be careful and I hope you get through your tough time ;)[DOUBLEPOST=1476467767][/DOUBLEPOST]

The dream I imagine most of us share, nice one on your 25k subs dude, you've obviously got the ball rolling.[DOUBLEPOST=1476467965][/DOUBLEPOST]

Dude that's awesome, you've been able to take your animation skills and turn it into your means to pay the bills. Congrats on accomplishing that. Hey, maybe you'll be the next Oneycartoons.
