What Do You Guys Think Of PewDiePie Deleting His Channel At 50Mil?

Ahh ok That was nice of YouTube I guess. He also didn't get his gold play button for a while iirc.

Yeah, people donated about 100k , YouTube upped it up to 200k (now if the Revel crew will add even more no idea... ) but it's for a good enough cause that helps with AIDS an whatnot.

Yeah that's good. I'm still not a fan of pewds but I suppose I have to applaud him for raising money for aids.

He got all the suckers talking and linking to him. Everyone who thought he was sticking up for the small channels do not even realize he just made more $$$ off the small channels.

Yeah he kinda did in a way. I think people have started to unsubscribe since this "stunt" was clickbaity

I agree. He knew exactly what he was doing. I just quickly checked out his "I'm going to delete my channel" video and noticed 2 things:

1) He monetized it. (Gotta make a few more thousands of dollars before he "deletes" everything right ?)
2) The clickbait top comment below the video is a link to a web page full to the brim of affiliate offers in the guise of "gifts to his subs" - He gets a commission every time one of his "bros" submits their email address to those partner companies. "Enter your email for a chance to win an iphone..."

I have absolutely nothing against pewdiepie making money from his videos, but I feel in this particular case, he's taking advantage of the very people he was claiming to support and most of them are too young to understand that he has played them like a fiddle.

That's kind my issue is that he took "advantage" of people but that's he does. He can make money with his videos being monetized but he did he have to use clickbait and trolling.

If you ask me, I don't think he'll do it. I think he'll delete his second parody channel "jacksepticeye2" which got 1 million subs in 24 hours.

LOL I watched one of his videos couple months ago and I don't really like his content. I don't think he will delete his channel after all the hard work.

Can someone give me a summary of it all. I can never sit through one of his videos. What was the glitch he was having? What was his reasoning for not deleting his channel? And how does any of this have to do with Aids? A summary would be amazing :)

- YouTube changed the algorithm which resulted in a lot of bigger youtubers losing 30-40% in views so they started rioting
- Every time the same YTers uploaded a video they'd lose subscribers automatically
- PewDiePie said he'd delete his channel at 50mil since every time he'd get close to it he'd lose subs.
- It became a huge topic of conversation with "will he do it" or "will he not do it"
- He deleted his 2nd channel "Jack Septiceye2" after giving the real jacksepticeye the gold play button for 1mil+ subs on the troll alt channel
- His reasoning "that was the joke" and "hah! got em... fooled the mainstream media, suckers"
- They had a charity livestream past 2 days and raised 1.3mil for an AIDS research foundation and then someone said he should just get AIDS himself but that's besides the point.

Basically it.

Love him or hate him he's playing the system like a fiddle. In his recent troll video "Can this video hit 1mil likes" he's already over 1.8million likes and basically destroyed every try hard screaming for 10 mins to get 100k-200k likes per video.
