Well, financially he's good. He could fall off the face of the earth and be fine till the day he passes. Whatever floats his boat. I am not one of the 49+ million subscribers, so I don't really care. I look at his content and it does not resonate with me at all.

I think it's great he's deleting his channel, imagine all the potential views he would get with a new un-glitched account where he would be able to get to trending and recommended, maybe even the home page, he's skyrocket back anyway, besides, he only get 2mil views per video, he'ss get just about the same amount if not more with a new channel

I was wondering if he will delete his main channel and start using the JSE2 as his primary one instead. Soon as I saw his announcement video I was asking myself "I wonder if that's the real reason he created the 2nd channel? How long has he been planning this delete at 50mil?"

Realistically though, it'd be a good thing for him, his numbers have been over-inflated for a long time since when he "broke records" people started subbing just to see how high he could get -- basically made him into a YT meme where subbing = good. Even if a huge percentage didn't watch a single video.

I agree with this. He is kinda over-inflated. Sure he deserves his million subs but I personally thought it got ridiculous when it went past 10 million.[DOUBLEPOST=1481205656,1481205100][/DOUBLEPOST]Meh I kinda wish he would so it would give someone else a chance for the top. Since he's kinda over done for lack of a better word. I'm gonna get hate for this but since he became the top YTer as a gaming channel, Gaming on YT changed when he got to the top it became let's (scream and shout profanity etc) while playing video games instead of being about the game and experiences., It's kinda hard to explain but i watch this circle of YT gamers that started before he did and they were kinda the big wigs for a while until the era of Pewds. I can't deny that he inspired people to make videos and what not. I just don't think he was the best *shrug*.

He'll still be a top youtuber even if he deleted his channel and started fresh with 5mil subs. I mean let's look at social blade in terms of subs. #1-#10 (pewdiepie, YouTube "Movies", HolaSoyGerman (Spanish gamer? Or something...idk), JustinBieberVEVO, YouTube Spotlight, RihannaVEVO, Smosh, elrubiusOMG (another Spanish tuber), 1DVevo and Taylor SwiftVEVO)

Now those are the top 10subbed channels, not counting the music ones and the Spanish ones ( no offense ), the options are Pewdiepie or Smosh.... lol for the face of YT. Neither are great but eh pewds is still better. Going down the list you can find better suited candidates like nigahiga, but who are we to pick who YT uses as their poster boy.

At the end of the day, nothing will change for us by him going on a new channel, for him he won't lose money in fact he'll likely make more because once word spreads that the king of YT deleted his channel the masses will flock to his new channel and videos.

Yesterday IGN had a livestream with pewdiepie's sub counter "pewdie-bye" they called it. So yeah. from a business perspective what he's doing is incredibly clever. Still he can chicken out and all this is mere hypothesizing.

When you get incredibly big, the only thing you can do is fall. So deleting when you're at the top? That removes the inevitable time (and it'll come, maybe not for years, but it'll come) when he's no longer at the #1 spot. It's much better, marketing-wise, to go out with a huge bang (think Casey Neistat, as well) than to wait for your numbers to start slipping, or for you to start aging out of your audience, or for interest in YouTube in general to wane. This way, he gets to make a big splash, will most likely get a ton of press, he's still going to be YouTube's darling (I really can't imagine he'd do this without extensive talks with YouTube brass), and he gets to say that he had to rebuild from the bottom up all over again.

It's pure marketing brilliance.

I doubt he will. And even if he does, it won't matter. He'll just make a new channel and his loyal legions of fans will give him well over a million subs in the first week. If he were to do it, all he'll accomplish is getting rid of the dead subs, which is a good thing.[DOUBLEPOST=1481211884,1481211819][/DOUBLEPOST]
