Okay. Here is the answer to my own question. I thought I would post this for everyone here that is asking questions. Please pay special attention to the text in RED. The revenue system is not working right now because they are working on it.

"Hi YouTube community,

We recently posted a blog explaining how we're addressing strong feedback from advertisers around ads running on content they feel does not align with their brand. Advertiser confidence on YouTube is critical to the financial success of creators. Unfortunately, in recent weeks, we’ve seen some advertisers suspend their campaigns. So earlier this week, we began implementing the new brand safety controls outlined in the blog.

If you’re seeing fluctuations in your revenue over the next few weeks, it may be because we’re fine tuning our ads systems to address these concerns. While this can be unsettling, we’re working as fast we can to improve our systems so that advertisers feel more confident in our platform and revenue continues to flow to creators over the long term.

What can you specifically do?

If you are monetizing your videos and seeing a drop in revenue from videos that are being monetized, review your videos’ thumbnails, titles and descriptions to ensure they accurately represent the content in your video and are aligned with the advertiser friendly content guidelines.

If you think your video was demonetized in error, request an appeal by clicking on the yellow $ icon next to the video in Video Manager. You will be notified once a decision is made on the appeal, and if it is successful, your video will immediately be monetized again and have a green $ icon. In light of these changes, we’re pledging to make the reviews process around appeals even faster for creators. You can learn more about how to request an appeal here.

We want to ensure that advertisers continue to support the creativity on YouTube and while ad restrictions can feel limiting, they’re essential to protecting the livelihood of creators. We will continue to provide updates on our progress in the Product Forum.

Cheers,
Marissa

It is all because of that WSJ. Even if they have a point up to a level, they screwed everyone.

I think i kinda said this (with less detail) in one of your previous posts asking about your earnings problem - Specifically referring to this issue.

Well the issue of why this is going on is not very specific. From all the chatter, I think the main issue that advertisers are worried about is the current political environment, with lot's of Trump bashing and vica versa. There is lot of hate out there right now on both sides and a lot of ugly videos that go over the line attacking the other side. I could be wrong. They could be talking about all the people that use click bait pornographic thumbs to get hits or all the ignorant uneducated video creators who do not know how to express themselves without the excessive use of crude and vulgar language. I can think of lot's videos like these that I would not want my ads running alongside. But that is just me.

I still think it`s horrible communication having them post this in their almost unknown forums and not even bother to send an email explaining the situation to us YT partners.

Not to mention they don`t even give an estimate date when things will get sorted out...it`s like they don`t even know (or care) that there are ten of thousands people whose livelihood depends on their YT earnings.

Anyone who's livelyhood depends on Youtube has made a horrible career choice..
After being in the Adsense world on websites for over 10 years this is nothing new. "The Adsense Earnings Roller Coaster" was just a part of life.. Earning $5,000 one month, and $800 the next was the norm. So for me, being new to generating income on Youtube, this is normal.

In another, more in depth blog about this, youtube reaffirmed it's commitment to keeping keeping minimal restrictions on free speach. So people will still be able to post what they want. They just want to refine the algorithms that control where ads will be displayed.

I agree with this and think it makes logical sens. It needed to be done a long time ago. Youtube has real problems in knowing what to display and when.

Take for example a video I produced for missionary that had done some work with native people in Papua New Guinea. He wanted the video on youtube, so I uploaded it to the missionary's personal account. A week later he was calling me complaining about the ads runing on it for, Viagra. And also the recommended videos list in the side bar were totally pornographic, showing full nudity thumbnails. I did everything in my power to find a way to control what type of ads and videos showed up on the page, but there was no way, so I had to take the video down and host it on my private server. This is a HUGE problem for a lot of ministries. Imagine if you were Jewish and youtube ran ads for Bacon along side your videos! See what I mean?

Youtube really needs to improve their categorization system so that creators can accurately categorize their videos, and also give us the ability to choose what type of ads and recommended videos appear on our videos. They could use the movie system, like G, PG, R etc. This way if say a pastor is posting a sermon, he could choose to only have G rated family friendly ads to run alongside his videos.

Bottom line. There is a lot of room for improvement on youtube when it comes to ads and the recommended videos list, for both advertisers and creators alike.

That`s actually a pretty neat idea, but as usual the big problem is that they want everything to be automated as having a human reviewing every single video is impossible. And you can`t rely on partner themselves for doing that as it would easily be prone to exploitation (i.e. using a very sexy thumbnail and flaring the content as family friendly to have better advertisers rates)

And sorry but I had a good chuckle about the missionary video with Viagra ads

I agree that there will always people with no moral compass that will try to subvert the system, but having a system, is better then having no system at all.

For me the main problem is that youtube is only worried about advertisers want, and not what about creators want. Advertising is where the money comes from, but without creators, there would be no audience to show the ads to. It is sysmbiotic relationship, so youtube can't just focus on advertisers.

Right now advertisers are worried about there ads showing up on videos that contains content they object to. But what about content creators that find certain ads objectionable and don't want those ads running on their content. Is youtube working on anything to fix that problem? I bet not.

You may think is that it is not a big problem, but it is. I can think of hundreds of situations where a content creator would want to restrict the type of ads that run on their video. For example, what if a minster released a video to help men deal with pornography addiction and while they were watching the video, a Victoria Secret ad showed up! That would be very bad. Some ads today are extremely racey and down right pornographic in my opinion. They should not ever be allowed to run on religious content videos. And there are many more situations like this.

As far as I can tell, youtube does not even care where ads are shown. I know I constantly see ads that I object too and that have nothing to so with me or my browsing history. Sometimes I feel like that ads I see (repeatedly) are the exact opposite of what I would be interested in and that youtube is actually trying to force me to like something. Most people reject ad tracking and targeting, but for me, I am like; show me something that I am remotely interested in. PLEASE! Tracking and ad targeting just simply does not work for me, because I never seen anything I am interested in.

Anyway, this is just my opinion. I wish content creators had as much say in what types of ads appeared on their content, as advertisers have in what content their ads get displayed on. Since it is a symbiotic relationship, we should have equal say.
