the simple trend I have seen in growing channels is a quick to the point but is catchy even after the hundredth time of hearing it. Keep your intro short with at the most being 30 seconds long (sorry if thats worded weirdly)
Matthias and Wolfieraps have simple and quick intros

I used to use intros for my vlogs but once I started making gaming videos I realized how over used they are, especially with the generic moving text and edm/trap music

I personally don't have an intro/outro. I think it's wise to jump start into the content, but it depends on what niche you are relating to. But intros and outros make your channel that much more put together.

I use both an Intro and Outtro. Both are around 7 seconds each.
I like them and have certainly never had any complaints.

I do not have an intro but now in my sit in videos I do introduce myself :) But no intro as subscribers would have seen it several time .

Ya know, I never really thought about this! You're totally right! Subscribers know who we are, so I guess there isn't a need to introduce who we are every single time! Lol, I can't believe I never thought about that! I usually introduce myself in most videos, but now I'm thinking I probably don't need to! Plus, everything I've ever read says that you are supposed to catch your viewer's attention in the first three to five seconds, and an intro may not do that. Thank y'all for making me think about this!

yea i would agree. dont put an intro to your videos. in my videos i usually put a small funny part at the beginning then begin to introduce myself as quick and well done as possible

Not a big fan of intro's as well. At least not how most people do it. You know, taking some cookie cutter After Effects intro thingy and copy+paste their name in it. Including the same freaking dubstep song :p

Anyway, I just create a text title (most of the time about the same as my video title) and let it fade out as my video fades in. Easy does it and it's at least something slightly different than most people do.

Should intros stay persistent or is it better to change them over time with different intro music?[DOUBLEPOST=1490844563,1490844495][/DOUBLEPOST]Should intros stay persistent or is it better to change them over time with different intro music?

maybe... it depends on the content and channel.... if you think to change it up a little would be a good thing then yes. if not then no. just try to stay original

I'm playing around with this right now. My subscribers are telling me they like my intro, but my analytics are telling me that I'm losing viewers before it's over, so I'm going to release my next few videos without it and see what happens. Maybe I'll try putting the intro like 30 seconds after the video starts, after the "hook."

Has anyone done any similar experiments and seen any noticable changes?
