How do you come up with your video ideas?

and the both of us have no rhyme or reason for what we do...with us its just reenacting real life situations/ things we've said..with ken..... he and john are just a very sophisticated bevis and butthead and except for music videos they have witty answers to viewer questions with that being said.....our life is tough! !
You forgot to mention the idea fairy that hangs out in that dark alley. He will give you one idea for a 6 pack of Jolt and a bag of sour patch kids.

What I do is I tend to write video concepts down and eventually make them into an actual skit. I usually try and mold the concepts around things that are relevant now, that way they'll get more views! Or it's just something like an inside joke or something that has happened to me in real life. :)

What do u guys do to come up with ideas? what stages do you pass through? how long? E.T.C...

For me Most of my ideas come from when i am sleeping and when im watching other vids. I Write them up in a word document and when i need ideas i just look through it and pick out the ones i need/want.

Hey,

I am glad you made this! I do something similar to you, but I am very unorganised just coming up with random ideas here and then.

I save all my ideas on my iPhone Notes, as soon as they come to my head. Then I go back to them and see if there is any merit to it. To be honest I have only made one video so far, but it seamed to work out really well :) If I forget to put it on my phone then I sometimes forget, so coming up with crazy ideas is hard!

Thanks,

Tom

I get most of my ideas when I'm at work, cleaning. Also a lot of my funniest impersonations just randomly pop into my head while I'm filming.

When I did Motovlogging, I'd ride with my camera attached to my helmet all the time, so if I got an idea I could quickly switch it on and start recording without even having to stop (The joys of GoPro lol)

With my new channel, I'm going to do a few of the 'tags' to get myself more aquainted with the feeling of being on camera, then I'll start making my own stuff properly. I'll be writing down ideas as I get them, so I'll have a small bank of stuff to work on once I'm 100% comfortable in front of the camera.

A lot of my ideas are inspired by something I see or hear that caught me. I have a lot of weird niche interests so I try to work in those references into my work without being too niche.

The hardest video to plan is your first one (in a channel or series). As I found out, I made sure to design a series with some flexibility so I don't have to overhaul it too much if the scope changes. I think having a set format or limitation generates new ideas since the scope has been limited and you'll start thinking of ways to work within those limits.

My video ideas are either old artworks I hadn't drawn but been meaning to, completely random/on the spot (and I happen to record it), or otherwise inspired by things like TV shows, movies, music, etc. Inspiration isn't hard for me to come by, it's motivation x'D
