I like gimp... but is not very simple.. i found anyway a nice channel - logos by nick - (i think i can put his name without permission? i dont know, i hope..) that explain in a very clear way how does it works gimp and inkscape

I don't know if you use free websites like
Canva and Pixlr. I know its not on your list but just wanted to let you know.

I'd like to say that personally I use GIMP for my yt thumbnails and I must admit that it is unbelievably convenient in case you want to cut some oddly shaped figures for photos or add cool effects like splatters etc.
