In my own opinion canva seems very simple to use for beginners but useful too.

I absolutely love gimp... I mean I'm horrible with it but for anyone looking to get into some more advanced editing without paying for photoshop, gimp is for you.

I’d definitely add MediBang Paint and Inkscape to this list. MediBang is especially useful for manga and comic-style work, while Inkscape is great if someone wants to work with vectors instead of only raster painting. Krita is also still one of the strongest free options for digital painting, and FireAlpaca is worth keeping on the list too since it’s still actively maintained in 2026. https://spinmama.pl/app/
