I was just thinking there and i thought of, Why couldnt youtube add a settings where if you dislike a video you have to explain why, but i guess they are just there and hopefully at the end everything will pay off :)
That wouldn't be good, because that would deter people from rating it. Instead of clicking "dislike", they'd just leave. If I had to explain why I was rating something a certain way whenever I did, I'd never rate anything because it would be too much work. When people have a single-click option, they can express themselves that way without expending any time or effort to do it, so it is an attractive option for them. You don't want people watching your videos and then just leaving. Whenever people share, comment, like, or dislike your video, it tells YouTube that your video had an impact on the viewer, and YouTube doesn't consider any impact bad. So you may not like when people dislike your video, but YouTube likes your video better for it.

Just push through man, you'll always get haters. Keep creating, improving and most importantly, have fun. :)

Don't feel discouraged, at the end of the day you should make these videos for yourself and the people that are supportive of your channel. Just remember its one video & you can still be successful over the 50 future videos you make :) Keep going!

That's true as you said it's only one video and I'm a new channel so there is plenty of space to improve and grow, thanks :)[DOUBLEPOST=1456263901][/DOUBLEPOST]
If it upsets you the haters have won.

Ignore dislikes. They are often placed by prepubescent kids that have nothing better to do with their life. There is such a thing as a legitimate dislike, but that one is accompanied by a proper comment (you can totally ignore or even delete those "u sux" comments).
It's not that I'm upset about the dislikes, it's more that I don't understand the reason for the dislikes

There is more often than not no reason for the dislikes other than haters wanting to ruin your day. Posting threads like this means their work paid off. Just ignore those thumbs down, they do not matter. The only thing that matters are thumbs up and good constructive comments.

My most popular video has 22 dislikes to about 18 likes... because it's a review of just the bad bits of the Deadpool movie (bad bits, not saying the movie overall is bad, just a video pointing out the errors) and I also have comments from people saying either 'Deadpool is rubbish' as if that agrees with me (which it doesn't) or 'There's nothing wrong with Deadpool'... I can guarantee lots of people aren't even watching it before commenting or hitting dislike. There's various things wrong with the movie, but I state things factually and say when I understand why they changed them etc, so it's a balanced video. Like the graphic says 'like a review but just the bad bits'. But they just see the main title and react on that. I've already learnt that both likes and dislikes on anything that's vaguely opinionated aren't worth looking at!

I plan on doing a few videos about movies I actually don't like soon.... I expect the dislikes on those to be higher than the views haha.

Dislikes are always hard - it took me a long time to accept that they happen! We have one person (it seems) that likes to dislike all our vlogs but its ok because he seems to still be watching them just to hate them!

Maybe make a disclaimer before the videos, before giving away your view on the movie.

I got like this when i was doing some Dying Light videos, as 4 videos i put up in a row got an immediate dislike, pretty sure it was within the first hour of it going up each time. You will always get them, i don't have too much traffic on my YT so every new like, comment or dislike, i get excited or slightly sad about xD i know i shouldn't.

As long as you keep going, try to improve with every video, have fun and you see signs of your channel growing then you are doing fine and ignore the dislikes :D

The video was going to be called something like 'why I dont like the (name) movies' or something like that.... I can't be much of a film critic if I only say nice things about everything!

People seem to hit dislike & comment without watching them. Youtube must know that... so I am trying to not be worried by it. To start with I was really taken aback people hated my videos enough to hit dislike, I never use that button unless the video promotes racism, sexism or is a trick (claiming to be a film trailer but actually an unrelated ad or other footage to trick viewers) but most people seem to use the button just to voice a vague disagreement with anyone who *might* not think exactly the same as them or like the exact same films as them... rather than anything to do with the video itself...

As someone said earlier in the thread. Thick skins are a requirement. I am learning that quickly :s
