Why you should NEVER do "sub for sub"

I totally agree that sub for sub is not really a gain in any way. I don't really see how people see it as a gain.
 
I absolutely agree! The thing about sub for sub is you have nothing to show for except the number behind the subscription. I want people watching my videos who actually like my videos and the content I have to share, not just to exist behind a number. I'd rather have 100 loyal subscribers who watch my videos and interact with me regularly, than a 1000 subscribers with slim to none views.
 
Thanks for the read, is their any positives to sub 4 sub? Does having a large subscription number attract the on the fence subscribers interested in your content but don't subscribe to people with no subscriptions because no on else has? I was thinking of doing sub 4 sub for this reason, and have decided against it for the reasons you posted in your original post.
 
I'm not proud to say it, but I did a sub4sub on another channel. Not only does it ruin your fan base, it also permanently stuffs up your sub count, you can never tell who is a real sub again!
 
I agree, If you make videos and sub for sub, as you stated what's the point. You aren't earning them the legitimate way.

I often see channels with like 10k subs, and their average view count of their videos may be around a few hundred ... I mean, this speaks for itself, right? I am immediately "turned off" by that, as I suspect either sub4sub or even pay4sub...

If I fail getting subs, then it's my fault and fake numbers won't help me at all.
 
Completely agree. Glad this post got stickied by the way. Some things which seem obvious to seem people might not seem as obvious to other people. Hopefully you saved a lot of people their precious time by writing this post :).
