Youtubers that also work full time in a completely unrelated job?

Wow- that's impressive!! How do you get time to do full time studies and 40 job? Never-mind the channel haha![DOUBLEPOST=1460128221,1460128132][/DOUBLEPOST]
It is planning meticulously that can be the most important factor, I'd say.

Its the only way I can make it happen, between the needs of the job and the needs of the wife lol

I work as a carpenters apprentice and have a 37 work week...get off at 15.00 every day and never work weekends, so finding time isn't really an issue for me luckily.

I work 50+ hours per week in a corporate job that frequently needs attention after I've gotten home and settled in for the night. It's difficult to manage that plus YouTube plus my other interests (I direct at least one theater production a year, which is 4-5 nights per week of 4-6 hour nights, plus performances), but it's doable with a tight schedule.

The benefits? Definitely the pay, which is much more than I could ever anticipate making on YouTube. Plus I get a retirement plan and paid vacation and lots of little perks through my employer. Plus, I can make any videos I want, because my channel is for my own fun and benefit, so I don't have to chase after subscribers or views quite so much (even though I am always trying to boost my audience).

Wow, massive respect to you for getting out so many great videos with such a demanding job!

I was thinking one of the benefits of working full time is, if we need something for our videos, props equipment- within reason we can just get it, being time rich often means being money poor and while TBH I'd rather have the time (purely from a YT perspective) gotta pay dem bills! We haven't even monetized our channel yet anyway and its a long long way from making enough for us to consider quiting the day jobs haha.

I have an office job 8-5 every week, with occasional overtime. The benefits are that I get steady pay and a job that is relatively unstressful, plus I get health insurance, etc.

Between working, working out, and social obligations, I find myself very very busy most of the time. In order to fit youtube into this, I have to be realistic and consistent with my schedule, and realize when I will and will not work on my channel.

For instance, I realized it's impossible for me to put out more than one video a week, and I can only film in the evening after work, or Sunday morning, and do the bulk of my editing on Sunday, with a half hour here and there on the weekdays. I also don't let myself get too burnt out on the youtube stuff, and instead use it as a destressor from work and other obligations. That way I keep doing it for fun. :)

I have a consulting job as an engineer that usually takes up about 60 to 80 hours per week, so that doesn't leave much time for making silly fiddle videos. =/ But I just post stuff for fun and not every week. ^^ I've learned that I need to get as much YouTube stuff done in the morning as possible, otherwise I'm too pooped out after work and nothing gets done.

I work in public accounting, and to be honest, when I'm at my busiest, I just take a break off youtube. (I mean, if I'm working both days of the weekend, and getting home after 1AM on weekdays, it's just not going to happen.)

During more reasonable 40-50 hour weeks, I usually set up my work flow so that I do all of my music arrangement at night, and then I do my recording and video editing on one of the days of the weekend. That leaves the other day of the weekend for everything else.
