We'll need more information before help can be given as this depends on what content you want to upload, maybe you want to do comedy, music, gaming, vlogging, reviews, be political?

We would need to know what your youtube channel is about to give anything really helpful, however, general rules today are to try and make a social media presence by being involved in multiple communities with constructive responses (don't just spam post, that'll get you dislikes from annoyed people on those websites). As for the channel itself, general rules are simply to always try improving your presentation and refining your content.
