I would think that the copyright share is really eating into that 9%. I just did my own, and I have 42% monetized views; 4,706 of 11,138 with no copyright share going to any outsider.

What kind of videos are you posting? I think your genre might have something to do with your low percentage. Please check the thread which tells you how to link your channel in your YTTalk profile so it shows in all of your posts.

I'm posting piano tutorials.
I knew with my piano tutorials i would have to share earnings with third party recognized material, despite being all my content not all videos have been recognised as third party. A fellow youtuber who also does piano tutorials is earning quite a difference to me - estimating for a million views i should have hit around $1,000 from his experience.[DOUBLEPOST=1446657470,1446657309][/DOUBLEPOST]
9% is low. I have 13% with gaming channel and 95% male views. You should have more :]

Yeah it's low i hope there is someone on here with brains who may have some helpful ideas or advice[DOUBLEPOST=1446657667][/DOUBLEPOST]
That's rough. Really low rpm. I'd completely get out of any category that had that low pay out for that many views. Almost impossible to make money. To the original poster. Are other people that are making the same type of videos seeing RPM that low?

A youtuber i know doing piano covers is earning much more significantly. And after our discussion he was surprised im earning so little. Unfortunately he couldn't conclude as to why my earnings were this low.

If it were all your content, you wouldn't have to share earnings and they wouldn't be 3rd party recognized. You may be the one performing the songs, but the writing was still done by someone else and, since they are 3rd party claimed, you may only be earning a fraction of the earnings or, likely, nothing from them at all.

Without more information, I doubt it.

As others have asked, your channel name or knowing how many of those million views have been 3rd party claimed would help tremendously.

I would also be curious on the average length of your videos. I could see that the average view duration of your videos is 1:19, but if your average video is 10 minutes long, that could be a huge part of the problem as well.

So i averaged out 10% of my videos have been claimed by third party. The other 90% are monetized without third party claim.

My video lengths are between 3 - 4 minutes long.

Shakycow i'm sure you'll have an understanding that I have avoided linking it the url from the sticky beaks that have no interest in contributing in this forum. Secondly and most importantly my statistics explain everything. So there's nothing my channel link can provide that analytics can't do better.

That's all great but what % of your views come from those 10% of videos?
It may well be 10% of videos but if 95% of your views come from those videos then that is why they are not getting monetized..
