Nasty Comments..

So.. here lately we have been getting some really nasty comments.. some from younger kids.. Some say our videos are cringey.. some say the boys are stupid (this one really bothers me).. some even say they wish they could die after seeing this.. has anyone else experienced this? I have a few times made mean comments back.. but I know that isn't the way to handle things. Most of the time I report it.. I was thinking about disabling comments... Thoughts?

Hey dude!

I went and checked out your videos, and I totally couldn't find any reason to hate them, your kids, or you. Your videos are fun and well edited.

Another thing I noticed: You receive a lot of really nice comments. I couldn't find any negative ones, but maybe you had already removed them by the time I looked. You're these children's mother right? It must sting and be very hurtful when people leave negative comments about you children. I'm sorry that they're doing this to you, but look at all the great comments you're also getting. If you're getting a lot more praise than hate then you're doing something right. :). The haters are always gonna be there. It just means you've become successful enough to collect them, but in my opinion you should keep the comments enabled because it seems like you're getting many good comments too. :).

Also, with comments you can get input from viewers on things that they might like to see in the future. They maybe things that help your channel grow.

By the way, I'm totally jealous that your channel is doing well enough to collect haters. They're hating you because they're to scared to put themselves out there with style like you do. Your totally not afraid to put yourself out there and they are. You rock for doing what you do and I think you're an awesome mom. You're also building fond memories that you can sit back and watch with your children when they're all grown up. :). Don't let the trolls win. I've been fortunate in that I've had almost all positive responses from viewers, but I've had a few in game live streams trolls that just want to start trouble. I ignore them.

Keep doin' what you do sister. Keep being a great mom, have fun with your kids, and keep makin' your videos. Send any haters my way. I'd would love to mess with them. I don't have any real haters yet and I'm totally jealous of you because of that. Lol!

Take care my friend. :).

YouTube is a horrible place when it comes to trolls. I have had crappy comments myself. The ones that are non constructive and only serve one purpose. Make you feel bad without offering a solution to what they have a problem with.

My solution is simply block the user from the channel by hiding all their comments. You get the last laugh, and the troll has to move on to someone else that will engage them in their negativity.

Its difficult, but knowing that they are kids should help you stop their comments frm affecting you. Kids are incredibly.... small minded and immatue. They post things without thinking of consequences and love to engage in sub4sub(and subsequent unsubbing).
I do everything i can to make sure kids dont find my channel
But you know you only get haters when your channel is big enough.

I know this won't help much, but congratulations! You're obviously doing something right! It's the Internet in 2017! In the words of the immortal Ben Kenobi: "You will never find a more wretched hive of scum and villainy. We must be cautious..."

In all seriousness, when it's aimed at your kids, the thick skin we grew for ourselves doesn't matter, you want to feed these trolls to, er... BIGGER trolls! :D

I think the best advice has already been given : ban the individual and set comments to be approved perhaps.

If there's one sure thing in life, there's people who hate themselves and their lives so much that the only way they can enjoy themselves is to hate and hurt other folks. You can't help them, you can only help them to move on somewhere else!

You're doing great! Keep going and keep growing! :)

We used to get lots of mean, rude, expletive comments, especially on some of our more controversial videos. I have been banning pretty much everyone who makes rude comments. The result is now the channel gets much less such comments. Still a few dozen per day, but much less than before. I have all comments set to approve first, nothing goes live without manual review. I did take on a few posters in the first few instances, but it chews up so much mental energy and time, there's no point and no way to win. Just block block block, don't even read them, if you see 1 swear word as you quickly scan the screen just block it. Also big fat paragraphs are some people who take it on themselves to "educate" you about how to raise your kids, what you should be teaching them, what is suitable or not to upload, etc, I just block fat paragraphs as soon as I scan the first few words "you should...", "what are you teaching..." etc etc.

The other thing is of course, our girls can and do read the comments. Need to shield the kids from the negative BS out there on social. That's the main reason for blocking it, the emotional well being of your kids if they read it, now or later.

I expected hate comments when my channel started to grow, but it still surprises me the intense level of vitriol that some people can express. What is the matter with these people?!?!?

In your case, with a children's channel, you really should ban the haters and try to delete any comments that slip through your filter as quickly as you can. I don't know how old your kids are, but you wouldn't want them to read hate-filled comments. You also want to keep your comments section as kid-friendly as possible.

Good luck with it!

I wish that Youtube do something about these haters and trolls like if you're having a Youtube Account or channel, there is something to verify first (not the mobile number or telephone) like passport ID's, personal information needs to be done before each account be up. At least, if they are going to troll or say hate things we knew who is behind these accounts. Sorry to hear about this but maybe lots of Youtubers are experiencing it including myself. Sometimes, it really hurts but what can we do? We just have to deal with it and be used to it.
