Massive drop in views on kid channels

So who said that is 100% proof that all content will be moved? FTC has problem with ads not content. How will they deal with Disney and peppa. Are they moving all the content. So kid shows will be equal restricted videos?
 
moving all kid content to a separate platform is illegal. basically kid content will be equal to some forbidden content . There are lots of people over 14 watching it and people who learn English as the second language or any other languages, for instance. It's like not selling an old man a popsicle because he is over 50 years old and too old for it.
plus most new channels dont work with youtube directly anymore and must join MCN
 
Some of these comments make me laugh. As someone that actually works for the government in a regulatory capacity, l can assure you that the FTC has issues with both ads and content. Although to be clear, I have no inside information in this particular issue and if I did I wouldn't be sharing it. My involvement is clearly someone that makes kids content and has advocated for Google to follow the law. How Google sorts this out with the settlement remains to be seen, but I can assure you that kids content revenue will never return to previous levels. For those of you that continue to put profit above the well being of our children, shame on you. Content creators should be coming together to applaud this action and demonstrate to the world the true motives of kids content. Exploitation and greed hopefully not being one of the motives. If you would rather believe in Russian conspiracy theories about four month blocking and MCN lies about everything being fine, then so be it. Everyone needs to owe up to the sins of the past and fix the major issue. The issue is not and can not be about profit.

With all due respect, my reference towards Russia was not political. I did not even read the article because Google is not doing a four month filter. Any such belief is pure fantasy. Yes I do believe that content creators based in Eastern Europe and Asian countries are statistically more nefarious than US content creators. Content creators operating in those areas lack sufficient oversight due to corrupt and inadequate governments that rely on bribery rather than rule of law. There are certainly good people from those areas, but it is too risky for Google to accept their content without manual review. Youtube's most latest official comment was, "And we have always been clear YouTube has never been for people under 13." They are not saying this for no reason.
 
I agree that the "4 month filter" theory is just lol nonsense.


The biggest takeaway from that Russian blog post should be that YouTube support is well aware that the algorithm has changed for kids channels and that they do not consider it as a "bug". Their replies to those support tickets were essentially "Yes we know. Deal with it."

YouTube has a page where they list known issues https://support.google.com/youtube/topic/16903?hl=en and there is no mention of any problems with the algorithm.

My comment was not meant to imply that Google has already taken action against creators from those areas. I was expressing a personal belief that it would be in the best interests for Google to require manual review of content coming from those areas in order to comply with US law. What I can attest to is that Google has issued a testing program for channels to self-certify their content after upload. I can also say that my channel has flipped to about 90% views coming from the kids app. This is obviously anecdotal evidence. I also noticed several popups on the main youtube app when trying to watch kids content that asks you to try the kids app instead.
 
channel owners have probably discovered a bug. they no longer use the Latin alphabet. I wonder if I should try it? because the algorithm has lost its path
